Allo Darlin' are many things. They can turn a room in a famous punk venue into a joyous, jumping, sweaty, pop-mosh pit. Or bring a room of 500 to hushed silence with the few strums of a ukulele and a love song about cooking. In their brief lifetime they have toured the USA four times, sold out tours across the UK and embarked on an epic five-week European tour. The band have also been strongly supported by BBC 6music, recording several sessions including one at the BBC’s prestigious Maida Vale Studios. Their self-titled debut was released to universal acclaim in 2010 with plaudits including being named No. 2 record of the year by online retailer eMusic, and a glowing 1,200 word essay by legendary Go-Between Mr. Robert Forster in the Australian critical magazine, The Monthly. Their second album “Europe” was released earlier this year and was made Rough Trade’s Album Of The Month, as well as receiving plaudits from everywhere from Pitchfork to Rolling Stone magazine.
"Terrific, witty and heartfelt, like a less moody Belle & Sebastian” – The New York Times
Tigercats are Duncan, Giles, Jonny, Laura and Stefan. Figuratively, they are made of Violent Femmes, Chic, Buzzcocks, Feelies, Hefner, Lonnie Donegan, and Life Without Buildings. Literally they are made of Esiotrot and Hexicon. They live in east London and make noisy music of open-hearted joy and sparkly-eyed adventure. If you like songs that start with intimate confession and end in furious vegetarianism, or studies of Konnie Huq's easily-forgotten role in the Beijing Olympics, you'll love Tigercats! Following singles on Haircut records and WeePOP! and their album Isle Of Dogs was released on Fika Recordings earlier this year to a host of sparkling reviews.
"Tigercats are a very, very good band. The kind of band that make you want to be a teenager again, so they can be your band." - The Sunday Times
Martha is Daniel, Naomi, Nathan and Jc, a DIY pop group from Durham City in the North East of England. Martha formed in 2011, releasing their debut self-titled EP on Discount Horse Records and Win Htein Records in early 2012. Taking cue from the artists of Go Discs and Dirtnap Records, Martha play energetic indie-pop-punk songs about history, fiction and small-town melancholia.
"Have you heard the Martha EP? It's amazing, my favourite record of the year" (Nik Vestberg, Moustache Of Insanity)
