Block Party, 22nd March 2013, Earls Court ???
Bloc party even
because they cancel, or clash with other things I'm seeing. I might go to this.
Not bad, I reckon. Got a couple of dud tracks, but I'm liking the grungier, rockier ones.
After about 4 listens, I'm thinking it may well turn out to be the picking the post-Silent Alarm releases.
my typing is atrocious today
I probably should listen to the album.
The album definitely has better tracks. I think Gordon (?) has been bringing his Young Legionaire material into the song writing sessions
I reckon there's probably enough people of an age where Silent Alarm was a big deal for them (I was in sixth form when it came out and bloody loved it), to make a decent crowd.
I probably won't bother though (although I also liked Weekend in the City AND, to a lesser extent, Intimacy).
it's bigger than Wembley Arena but not as big as the O2
promoters generally know what they're doing
I saw the Cure there in 1996 & it was only half-full. But then they were touring Wild Mood Swings, which was shite.
as an aside i rather like the new album. especially the almost perfect rip off of a smashing pumpkins solo
or was there a reply to ^this earlier that was completely bagging the album...?
Where did it go?
Gonna need to do some searching to see if it has or not, fuck my internet service provider for blocking the pirate bay.
there were straight out .rar downloads last night, but they could be down by now.
I imagine they'll become one of these bands that loads of people come and see for years after their peak even if nobody actually wants to buy new material by them. Like the Bluetones. Or Supergrass.
Which probably equates to one night at Earl's Court. Depends if they have another big, or at least reasonably big, single from the new album.
probably in lots of end of year lists
might even have won a Brit award by the time of the gig which is FEBRUARY 22nd not March according to the internet
+ they're bound to have a decent support or 2
can't really see them having problems selling it out unless the record really bombs
Putting it on right now.
Wasn't Kele wondering if he'd been kicked out or something? Or was that just a FIB?
