Should already have been nominated at least for their first 2 albums and Simple Pleasure - if The Something Rain doesn't make the list it'll be a travesty. Though with M People as previous winners, maybe it's a travesty already.

Tindersticks are long overdue but they probably won't be nominated.

Self-titled was quality and a big leap forward.

Would like to see Django Django nominated, and I reckon Rustie might be the token 'edgy'/electronic nomination.

Spiritualized will probably be nominated, and might even win, just from the overdue/great reviews combo (though you could probably say the same about Richard Hawley and Kate Bush ey)

I am already depressed about this year's Mercury Prize

I refuse to pay it any regard.

Especially when considering the mediocrity of many of the other nominees. Would love Tindersticks to win though.

Would love to see nominations for the Twilight Sad and Future Of The Left - think the former may get one but not the latter sadly :-( one name that hasn't been mentioned that's really surprised me is The Cast Of Cheers. I would have thought they'd be worth a shout - unusual enough to be nominated, catchy enough to have a mass appeal and Luke Smith of Clor's production being kudos enough for a nom?

Wouldn't begrudge it to Lianne La Havas either.

Errors deserve a nomination but probably won't get one. Someone else mentioned FOE up there ^ as well, excellent album.

but no sure Sky's Edge deserved a nod. The rest is of the stuff is the usual boring forgettable stuff. It's another tragedy that Tindersticks aren't in there and I wanted to see Kate Bush and Saint Etienne. Man that Maccabees record is over rated.

But nothing will beat last year's Smother rejection. I mean, the fucking Maccabees got on this year.

from These New Puritans didn't make it either. I don't get the Django Django acclaim. It's all stuff I feel like i've heard before done better.

It's so fucking head and shoulders better than anything else they've done. It's a band at their apex. If they don't get it now, that might be it.

That may account for the non appearence of FotL, Tindersticks and Twilight Sad as none of the those labels would have money to burn.

Just got through the Jessie Ware album. It wasn't easy. By track 3 I was nodding off. Bit of a slog to get through. The Kate Bush is so much more brave, moving and substantial then this.

absolutely should win it. That, Grizzly Bear's new one and EL-P's Cancer for Cure are my favourite records this year.

mentioned R.I.P. by Actress. One Guy! He is from the U.K isn't he (or at at least as much as Anthony Hegarty is)? It is more of a shock that the DiS community has forgotten this album than it not being nominated. Have people forgotten the buzz around it (not just the 10/10 review)? Or have they gone off it big time?
