How many DiSsers are in bands?
Inspired by the sheer amount of guitar fx pedals being paraded in the relevant thread, which leads me to think that some of you are more than just bedroom gear enthusiasts - how many of you are in bands that I've heard of / never heard of and are their links?

Amy Blue
Whores Whores Whores
a free chance to JAG
As the name suggests, Amy Blue, fuzzy-noisy-shoegaze-pop stuff
http://www.amyblue.co.uk (goes to bandcamp where everything is free to download and listen to). Second album in the works for September, looking for new bassist if any fx pedal toting bassists are at a loose end :)
(the pedals really are optional...don't mean to be a fascist!)
But yes, please do get in touch, thank you..!
Yep, the JAG is on me!
fuzzy-noisy-shoegaze-pop stuff eh? Looking forward to it already...
I'm in this one.
http://theoryofmachines.bandcamp.com
The last thing I was expecting from this thread was Massive Attach/Tool/PiL inspired brilliance.
And yet...
Many thanks, I'm genuinely pleased you like it.
haha
im in a band (manchester/north west based), you wont have heard of us though, although we have been going for years , check out a tune www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXQuUTIUjTY its on our new cd due out soon called PEDIGREE CHUGS haha the songs called 'belly full'
I'm in this one...
...and yes, I have a few pedals.

We're playing for Club AC30 at The Wilmington Arms in Clerkenwell on Thursday 16th August and NEED people to come. Do it!
^ Go and see this band. They are great.
Thank you for your kind words.
We play as a 2 piece now which has upped the aggression / noise factor considerably. Also, some of our new stuff is a lot 'dancier' or 'upbeat' than the last record, which makes for an interesting new direction. I like it.
sounds great!
I love your band - I put you on in Brighton a few years ago at my Not For Resale night. You were really good.
Thanks man!
I think that gig was before my time, I joined the band in early '09.
There's a Facebook event page for our Wilmington Arms gig here if anyone is interested. Support is You Walk Through Walls, the new band from the guys who were in Air Formation.
http://www.facebook.com/events/119156801561083/
^ Everyone should click into the remix album there and listen to my remix
It's rubbish but I did it so it's good.
Hi. I play in two bands
1. The Astronauts - the band is 10 years my senior and started amidst the punk explosion in '77. We're good.
http://theastronautsband.bandcamp.com/
2. Pog - I joined this band just under a year ago and I play accordion. Here you go:
http://www.reverbnation.com/pog
Used to be
In Men of Unitus - www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpgEGJvz14M
Now in Crap Crab - http://www.reverbnation.com/crapcrab
And my old metal band The Elephant Asylum (worst band name ever? probably) - www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8gWRED69qw from our one off reunion gig last year, I hate the bassist btw.
we put Men Of Unitus on at Club 85 a few times
looking forward to seeing Crap Crab soon.
Don't suppose Crap Crab
want a gig at The Windmill on Saturday? I would book the hell out of them.
Fraid not
we're recording our debut single in a shed in Luton this Saturday. Otherwise we'd be there with balls on. Keep em peeled though, Crab jams coming your way soon.
really like Men of Unitus
is there an album I can acquire?
There surely is.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gland-Hope-Glory-Men-Unitus/dp/B001NPAWU4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344609282&sr=8-1
Turn it up to 11 and stand the hell back etc....
Pretty minimal on the pedals front
But I play in this band, Toddlers:
http://soundcloud.com/toddlers-2
we do this
not so much a band but a remix / production crew
http://soundcloud.com/clubclique/sets
Can tie a few threads up in one post, here...
I use a Fulltone Fat Boost pedal (and occasionally Boss DD-20) in tandem with an AC30CC2 in a band called These Are End Times. Miserable stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfW0glmL4o8
Used to be in a band called Optimum Wound Profile many years ago, and we managed to get signed to Roadrunner by sending them a demo tape, before we had played a gig. Pretty sure that sort of thing might be a thing of the past, sadly.
I'm in a band
I'm in 2 bands.
One's pretty obscure and the other's not yet released anything.
This is the pretty obscure one...
http://paulhawkinsandtheawkwardsilences.get-ctrl.com/#/
The other one's called the Count of Chateau Noir.
(Ps to get a plug in for 5 other great bands, you can download one of my favourite of our songs on this awesome Audio Antihero Sampler)
http://audioantihero.bandcamp.com/album/audio-antiheros-commercial-suicide-sampler
The Nosferatu D2, Benjamin Shaw and Jack Hayter songs on here are great.
I do kinda...don't suppose you've earned of a little band called
RADIOHEAD?!
where bounce you from ?
haha came here to say that
I'm in one, just released our first EP
http://soundcloud.com/Rounds
The first track is really great.
I'm in 1 main band and a side project.
My band are Fresh Eyes for the Dead Guy- sort of a post hardcore type thing, At the Drive In, Refused, Fugazi stuff.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8NsGqtH_0tc
http://fresheyesforthedeadguy.bandcamp.com (has older stuff, but it's free to download!)
Side project have nothing recorded yet, and a name which is in irish that I can't remember how to spell!
Just a bit of fun
http://soundcloud.com/pestotheband
new material later this year
I'm in one that has I guess been many years in the making but only just properly formed
not recorded anything yet but I'll be back here to jag when we do.
This is a placeholder jag.
I'm in a band. One day, we'll play a gig.
http://davidharpersangrygod.bandcamp.com/
I use a BIG MUFF. No other fx: having more than one thing to stomp occasionally would confuse me.
Yo i may aswell plug my band here
www.thevelourias.bandcamp.com
i'm in a band
ohhhhh reeeeeeally.......
http://functionrecords.bandcamp.com/album/if-id-had-an-atlas
what is this? what does it mean?
I too am in a band or two.
One is very much alive and playing a big gig soon (big for us!)
One is not very alive but just released an album recorded years ago.
Just ask if you want to know more.
I want to know more
well, seeing as you asked........(it's not needless self promotion anymore!)
the first is Mothertrucker, instrumental stoner rock nonsense.
http://mothertrucker.bandcamp.com/
(The gig is at Supersonic Festival which we're well excited about!)
The second is The Hubble Constant. FInally got our cd out, but dunno if we'll ever play again......we'll see!! Mega-city hardcore........
http://thehubbleconstant.bandcamp.com/
Thanks for your time!
ohai
I've seen Mothertrucker, you're good
helllllllllo there!
and thank you very much. where did you see us? Are you a Manc!?
I'm a guitarist by nature
and used to have loads of pedals, but I currently play drums in this band.
http://stationagents.bandcamp.com/
Also do multi-instrumental things for this project whenever we can find time to get together and record.
http://lostproperly.bandcamp.com/
I am the voice in this band:
Like Pulp but with noisey, alt. rock guitars -
http://www.soundcloud.com/strangedaysofficial
and I used to be in this one, a post-punk/shoegaze affair:
http://www.myspace.com/thefirmband
I helm this one...
... a bit of a mix between Grandaddy, Mogwai and Blur:
vandersaar.bandcamp.com
(try Lowpass or Red Circle)
Tons of pedals, but I also muck around with a lot of the effects in Logic when recording.
Great Cop - Glasgow
http://soundcloud.com/great-cop/ - we have a properly recorded ep out next month and apparently we sound like Jawbreaker/Husker Du/Trail Of Dead/Built To Spill/Dinosaur Jr
Though really we sound like Fugazi, Fucked Up and Unwound cuz they're the only other three bands who exist.
I'm in Sailplanes
We've just recorded a new EP!
http://www.thesailplanes.com
I like effects plenty too, and run Fredric Effects, building them for literally some hours each day:
http://www.fredric.co.uk
your band is great.
people should go see you.
Thanks Meatbreak!
Stacey pointed me in the direction of your comment yesterday. Your support means a great deal to us. Now maybe I should go about finding us a nice show to play...
Good thread...
I know of some music-making DiSsers but its good to see a comprehensive list.
I'm a DiSser and I'm in Zapoppin', our last release was a split 7" EP with Jaxson Payne: http://zapoppin.bandcamp.com/album/another-pearly-wotnot-tears
I'm sort of in a band
on/off constantly. very slow progress.
http://soundcloud.com/meatbreak/sets/potemkjin-village/
I'm following you now
so I get to finally hear what The The The Repeat Peters sounds like!
I'm the gruesome son of a bitch behind "Death By Raygun"
Recorded it all in my bedroom. This is the most effort I've ever put into music, so I'd love to know what you guys think. Gonna start playing live soon.
http://soundcloud.com/deathbyraygun/sets/the-clifford-hoyt-experience
"Evil blown out B-movie goodness for the whole family! On their 1st clusterfuck of an EP, Death By Raygun are gonna drag you kicking and screaming through 5 sonic tales of terror. Spooktastic guitars, demonic keyboards, caveman drumming and a coked up Ed Wood doing his best Iggy Pop. Brace yourselves companions. Shit is about to go off!" - Shaking Stevens
I wanted to call my band Death By Raygun!
Glad I didn't now, obvs.
I play guitar with lots of pedals in this band
http://soundcloud.com/mount-fabric
Here we go
we (MASHEMON) sound like this sometimes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXUWQxhdbE4
Our attempt at a pop song (!)
i do shoegaze
one man band bedroom lofi bollocks http://hotglass.bandcamp.com/
This is good ^
Impressed. I'm a sucker for fuzz.
How come JAG threads are always so popular?
Anyhow, I used to be in this band:
http://soundcloud.com/we-the-plural/loch-awe-i-will-drift-into/s-3C24W
http://soundcloud.com/we-the-plural/loch-awe-the-diamond-king-six/s-yUZ57
Now I'm in this one:
http://soundcloud.com/we-the-plural/homes
We stopped being a band a few years ago and this lone demo was recorded before we had a drummer.
http://www.myspace.com/bulkampersandskull
Surprisingly, we actually had a couple of fans.
All of them
surely
Me, be warned though it is a bit difficult.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uabr5yr04Eo
I was in Legendary Weapons of China
now I'm in the Molten Mirrors http://themoltenmirrors.bandcamp.com/. Delighted to get in some free JAG action.
pureDATA is in a great band called CLOUT! who I did a remix for.
Golau Glau
