Yeasayer are basically streaming their new album online and there's no thread about it?!

As far as I can make out they've strewn videos each containing a different track from their upcoming album somewhere on the internet and these have now all been found and have been assembled on youtube in a playlist. Here:

Sounds great so far.

  • I think it'll be average, so I won't bother

Unless there is ridiculous amounts of praise, in which case I'll give it a go.

    Then I'll know its average.

  • Yeah

I wondered why this hadn't happened. I thought maybe it just needed time to catch on, but then the scavenger hunt ended - surprisingly quickly, what type of clues did they give out?

From what I've heard so far it's pretty good, but I haven't given it a full go yet.

  • I saw them last night in Buffalo

I'm on holiday. New tunes sat well alongside the older, they put on a great show these days.

  • I think the album is weak

Electro-pop and white r'n'b is all well and good but there's no bounce, the good tracks have similar chord progressions and it all comes across as a bit half-baked and flat.

for all its faults I loved Odd Blood, so I'll give this more time but I was really underwhelmed on first listen.

Reagan's Skeleton, Henrietta and the closing track are all fairly good though.

  • You know what

I love it. Had it for a couple of weeks now, and listening to it at least twice a day - and looking forward to listening to it when I'm not.

I love the electro emphasis here, and the harmonies are great...

  • didn't have big expectations because the other two are a bit average to me

but i actually totally love it, it's this nice balance of bouncy, fun and unexpectedly moving at times.
