Is it just a button at the side saying 'delete thread'. I feel like someone has pulled my pants down revealing my ELO underwear infront of all the punks.
it's the third of the three buttons on the right side:
1. 'This the OP' button
2. 'Dinner?' button
3. 'Delete thread' button

It's just not there. I have the FB like button, Relevant artist tags button and the different thread view buttons under my original post. And that's all folks.

just ask him whether the delete, this the op and dinner? buttons are off limits to newbies, and whether he can bump you up to a senior user.
I feel like they've changed the system for newbies since I first joined.
Don't worry about it anyway: we all make silly threads for starters. If it's really bugging you and you can't delete it then just hit hide post and it'll at least keep it off search!
Let's not drag any other poor soul into this.
I once tried to assemble my own Ikea table for a few hours. I deemed it impossible and refused anyone else to try and demean my hours of work. Turns out I'd just mistakenly dropped a bag of screws under the couch in my excitement for that be-a-utiful new table.
