Radiohead.
They peaked with The Bends, OBVIOUSLY.
Sure, Pablo Honey was amazing and it was impossible to see how they could ever top it and yet somehow...somehow, they managed it.
What do you think they'd sound like today if they hadn't entered a terminal decline starting with OK Computer?

Face For Radio (U.S.)
is this like a homage to the early years of Radiohead trolling threads?
IS IT?
the fuck is this?
Proper tunes with proper guitars
and proper emotions
Watch the videos for 'Paranoid Android' and that Peppermint Apes one with the bee in it
And tell me who the real genius is
Hi AUTOMATIK,
Good call.
What about proper hair?
I don't think so.
I heard that after The Bends
Thom Yorke died and was replaced by a lookalike.
Think about it.
And then again with Johnny Greenwood before The King of Limbs
Think about it.
It makes sense, the moments of hope in the first two albums
replaced by evermore anguish and pain in their latter works. Thom Yorke (if it is indeed him) wailing at the world, despairing at the fact that he will never pen anything as majestic as Creep ever again.
That's why all their other hits sound like Creep
but with bleepy bloopy bits in them.
Didn't he become Mayor of London?
No that was Jonny Greenwood.
Stop getting Radiohead wrong.
I thought Jonny Greenwood started making cheese.
And then he's due to re-unite with Blue for the closing ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games?
Oh yeah he was Mayor of Cheddar first
I feel there is an opportunity somewhere to mention the word "gorge" here.
So there we are.
"Gorge".
You're Gorge-ous
That was a Radiohead song right? I think it was on the album Babybird.
No, you're confused
That was Luke Haines.
Ok Computer
is their best album, you plank. go back to the social board. OK Computer>The Best Of Radiohead>The Limb>Remixes>Kid A>The Bends>How Am I Driving>Amnesiac>Hail To The Chief>Rainbows>Pablo Honey>The King Of Limb
You've chosen a complation as their second best album?
You haven't got the hang of this nerd thing AT ALL. Actually, I'm starting to doubt whether you even know who The Radio Heads are!
*OK COMPiLation
i'm too indie to include compilations in my top list of Radiohead albums!
look at me! i'm so indie!
I'm a class 3 hipster.
I'm willing to bet that you can't even remember the Melody Maker? Hmmm...hey? Well?
Exactly. Your silence speaks volumes.
I feel like Im through the looking glass here...
they'd sound so much better if they had drums in their songs
Undeniably true.
To me they're very much the Carter USM of their generation.
But without the sense of humour. Or the tunes.
:D
what's a radio head?
Used to be a credible rock combo...
then they started making whale music for Guardian readers. : (
who cares about radiohead threads
just give it up already
You care by reading them, then posting in them.
I hope you're proud of yourself.
Who are the Radioheads?
Oh-oh-ohhhh OH!
I love that song America.
How does it feeeeeeeeel! can't believe Johnny Greenwood used to be friends with Pete Dockerty
it was all going fine
until they chopped off phil's arms
now phil has no arms and he can't play the drums and the band don't know what to do
why do you think they called it the king of limbs
they're taunting him
it's a good job they can still play the hit single
SATIRE
No satire here cupcake, just TRUTH.
It's people like you who ruined Radiohead for those of us in the hearing community.
Excrementory Grindfuckers!?!?!?!
Best tag in the history of DiS.
DiS has actually turned me right off radiohead completely with the ongoing arguments and hype over everything they've done, the music just doesn't live up to the adulation bar a couple of songs. Did enjoy the OK computer film thing, it was like a terminally depressed spinal tap.
Please turn this very thread into a sitcom...
...assuming the sniping is all in good nature this thread does have me actually laughing at my screen.
