Yeah, I know... not proper music, geek flick, didn't he score 'Gladiator'? etc etc.
But in terms of the most important music released this year, there is a strong argument that this will be up there as I'd wager that a great deal of the films or TV programmes you've watched this year have had music in them more than slightly influenced by the minimal scores Hans Zimmer did for the last two Batman flicks.
When I rewatch them, the thing that I always remember the most is the barren but hypnotic soundtrack which builds the tension from the first minute.
So here is the new one (or at least large chunks of it). The track names don't seem to reveal any spoilers so listen away.
There's a more tribal feel to some of it (the chanting sample was used in the early teasers), with serenity in other tracks giving away to really uplifting passages.
Anyhow, yeah... I'm still only halfway through it, but debate away.
