The Beatles - albums chronologically...
I'm going through all of the Beatles albums in chronological order. What started as a lazy conversation seems a worthy blog project. Not a band I'm a huge fan of i will be listening to a lot of the albums for the actual first time and offering what I really think. Apologies for the "jagg"

looks interesting
always like to read people's first thoughts of hearing The Beatles
good luck
my beatles live blog here stalled completely...when I just lost the will to finish it tbh, think just wasn't in the mood like I was when I did REM.
Stick with it.
I didn't actually listen to a Beatles album in full until the mid-90s when I got more interested in them on the back of the Anthology TV series.
The first four albums are pretty much the same as I recall. It's not until Help that things begin to develop more.
As it stands my mum has the first six on CD and I have all the rest, plus I have Rubber Soul as we overlap there.
Oh and it's worth (if you can face it) listening to the Let It Be...Naked album too, which is a far better take on Lennon and Spector's anti-Macca production of the original.
As a lifelong beatles fan
(I had the original first singles at the actual first release)
I think that that is a very fair review of the albumn. Very good review
I think it's probably fairly common for younger* people to have not really played their albums much, if at all
I'm not sure why, maybe because of their absolute ubiquity throughout all of my life (and maybe a slight stubbornness against popular opinion), but I'd never got round to listening to any of them in their entirety until the recent reissues where I similarly went through them all.
Well worth doing out of historical curiosity value as much as anything, although of course there is some very fine music to be hand and a few hidden gems to be found.
Would really like to see someone do something similar and blog a discography playthrough of Bowie (I think we have a few people not overly familiar with a lot of his work here) and see what they make of the various twists and turns of his output.
*not really all that young at all
3rd post / album tonight...
... after a much needed kip after work... keep 'em peeled and thanks for the positive comments.
Beatles wobble...
...with their 4th album?
Aye
On my listen through For Sale was pretty rubbish
with exception of first two tracks
which are ace
Help...
... and you can sense (although hindsight helps) they were about to get a whole lot deeper very, very soon. http://midnightpunk.wordpress.com/2012/06/28/the-beatles-help/
like, erm, this.
http://midnightpunk.wordpress.com/2012/06/30/the-beatles-rubber-soul/ but still to get even more essential, and to think, i'm not even a fan. Credit where credit is due comes to mind.
did I tarnish Revolver with Husker Du?
... one of my favourite bands of all time. I could not resist. Did I get it wrong?

The "White Album".
It should have been a single LP. Then in would have been their best? No link, you guys and gals gets peeved, but it's up there.
