Well, not quite, but these bozos have yet another change in direction it seems. Now called 'Lovelife'.
a Brother thread.
They are going "on tour" and have merch and everything....
worst name change of space year 2k12?
i'm just not sure it's theirs
It seems that Lovelife only features Lee (the singer?) from Viva Brother. It's him and a guy from Mirrors, I think.
A bit like Pure Love coming along and everyone going "Gallows are back!" (stupid analogy, but you know what I mean). It's not 'Viva Brother - the return', it's the singer from Viva Brother doing a new project.
To brazenly change their complete sound and style twice and act as if each incarnation is the only true thing they've ever been... first emo, then Britpop swagger, now this, which I can only guess is their interpretation of hipster cool ala Lana Del Rey, The xx etc.
I never heard a note of (Viva) Brother, and the little I've heard from the other two versions is enough to suggest they're musically unremarkable at best. But it sort of thrills me the way they're so openly hypocritical and gung-ho about it all. I think it might just be the inner Manics fan.
Shameless bandwagon jumping, I mean whats wrong with Slough?
and I imagine someone told him to listen to The Weeknd, but it comes across as really shit boyband synth pop. Listen below:
It is insanely bland.
"Everything is something already" is just about the most meaningless use of words ever achieved by human beings.
what it doesn't know too soon
His voice is hilariously bad.
YEH GOOD TIMES MUSH PROPER BARE SORTED
and be done with it
that this project is the work of Chris Morris or someone like that. I mean, surely noone can really be that much of a twat, or have so little dignity or self-awareness? If Lovelife don't work out, what next? Is he going to start wearing monks' robes & playing drone rock?
Not as good as Viva Borther though. I miss them.
The album's got a bit of filler on it, but the singles are/were realyl great for a chap of my age who grew up on a diet of mid-late 90s britpop.
Plus, the one time I saw them live, they came on to Bon Chic Bon Genre by Campag Velocet (a band I have always loved), so this made me like them more. Whoever used to look after Facebook page would sign off posts with 'Bon Chic', I always thought that was great.
Bon Chic Bon Genre when I was DJing a couple of weeks ago. Went down like a lead balloon but I liked it.
and i love bon chic bon genre
vb were an awful awful band but i kind of love them for their hamfisted optimism
please be serious...
always at festivals, when there was nothing good on - "oh let's go and have a look at brother then..."
who I assume was joking
They were on the mainstage opening for Morrissey, Stooges, Lou Reed and Patti Smith. Take the piss out of them all you like, but every bed wetting DiSser in a shit band would kill their first born to play on the main stage with that line up.
Tried to get tickets to see them at Koko after that but it was sold out. Then they split up.
They've been really boring in each of their guises.
Kill The Arcade, Wolf Am I, Brother / Viva Brother.
Some bands just need to give their money back to Mummy & Daddy & call it a day
the change in fashion :D they are comical. this is fantastic.
