ARENAS.
wtf?
Bon Iver.
Arenas.
What in the flying fuck is going on here. You aren't U2, Bon Iver. I look forward to the extended version of Skinny Love with the guitar wig outs and confetti.
Pfffffft
Seeing him in July in Barcelona in a smallish outside space,
sounds alot better than Manchester Arena in November.
wwwwwwwwwwwwwttttttfffff
wembley = bad, bad idea
yeh, that'll work
I think it'll totally work
that new 10-piece band he's got together sounds BIG.
sounded humungus at Pitchfork Paris, and that was pretty much an arena...
The Usher Hall was bouncing when I caught them last year..
Don't think the stadium size would pose any problems at all.

haunting.
Like Bon Iver, James Vincent Mccmorrow or Radiohead, then you will love Ray Gibson – a new act to hit the scene with the backing of Itchy Pig Records.
With his debut album out September and numerous TV & radio appearances planned including Jools Holland, BBC Breakfast, Dermot O'Leary plus some great gigs planned for the next 12 months.
Please 'like' our Facebook page to keep up to date on future events plus we will be giving away free tracks and DVDs.

nah thanks x
So how long before these are downgraded then, eh
lol. where exactly would he play instead then? on his last run he sold out a two night run at the Hammersmith Apollo, which is far more than Brand New or Frank Turner did before they (had no problem) playing Wembley Arena
but London is quite different to the rest of the country, isn't it?
I mean, I could imagine Wembley not being much bother, but Manchester arena, really? Why not just play the Apollo?
he's really big now
His Apollo show last October
sold out in minutes
I'm gonna go to Wembley and I'm gonna enjoy it
Any idea on price? Assume they're onsale on Friday?
It's not just Justin Vernon with a guitar, you know?
I'm not particularly fussed about going to these gigs, but I'm sure they will be decent for what they are. Only ever seen him at Green Man, but that was great.
Small venue with decent sound >>>>>>>>>>>>> massive arena. Always.
Problem is if Radiohead only ever played in dingy pubs, none of you virgins would ever get to see them.
He sold out my local, Bristol Colston Hall, last time
well in advance with a minimum of fuss.
By there only being three arena dates in the UK, well spread out geographically, I reckon he'll do OK.
I agree though
that I'm not convinced his music fits arenas. You kind of need bombast for arenas, for me.
last year's tour, at Hammersmith
was pretty bombastic
Colin Stetson.
Manchester is £25 face value
Reasonable price is reasonable
This will sell well because I can imagine lots of people would take a punt on bonny bear at £25 a pop in an arena
Nice price
I guess London will be about £30?
Still questionable about arenas in general...
...but the Manchester Apollo show last October was utterly spellbinding. His band are first class and the whole thing was gloriously intimate, despite the space.
Astounding on the Other Stage at Glastonbury in 2009 too and by all accounts, he and his band blew Coachella away.
He's popular, so he's playing big arenas. Good on him....they're not ripping fans off for price, just playing to bigger venues (October tour sold out and that went on sale quite soon after the album came out)
Yep, I hate arenas but they're a fact of life if you become big now. But trust me, he'll put on a great show. Amazing live act
They could have played to sold out arenas last year
I saw them three times in three months (Manchester, Leeds and Toronto). Sounded absolutely huge on all three occasions.
Anyone know if there's a Manchester pre-sale?
I don't know whether to go to London or Manchester
someone decide for me
Wembley is a total shitter
Head north
thankyou
Manchester Arena
is equally horrible as Wembley and much bigger (20,000 ish). Only advantage is its in the city centre.
Might suggest that...
Given their current UK your schedule, Polica could be support. Might make a gig in the Wembley shed more palatable.
pre-sale
now: http://boniver.org/tour/1/
London is £27.50
damn
I just got tickets through o2 priority / ticketmaster. cost me more.
Grabbed some Wembley ones earlier
Looking forward to it
Purchased!
Thanks for the tip-off
It's funny that some people get pissy as soon as an artist announces an arena tour.
His website is such a fucking pain.
Perfect act for arenas
Three drummers, loads of anthemic songs. You lot really are a funny bunch.
I'm going to see Bruce Springsteen at the Ethiad
on Friday so I'm not exactly against big gigs in principle. Wembley Arena is just a fucking horrible place to watch a gig. 02 is loads better although a 3 or 4 night run at Brixton Academy would have been great.
(CrowdSurge have the cheapest fees - link as above)
Cheers.
I just got 2 tickets for Dublin. Ticketmaster aren't releasing tickets until tomorrow morning, I'd never heard of crowdsurge, anyone bought through them before?
Manchester is only a half capacity show, I think
:-)
