I'm with badu on this one.
His political ramblings at his bands live shows ruin them for me. Less talking, more performing.
remember when he went off on one about Arcade Fire? guy always struck me as a bit of a tit. always posting naked pictures of his wife on twitter as well. bit of a creep.
Just really not a fan of spelling mistake-laden Twitter rants about 'respecting' 'artists'.
"As a sociologist I understand your type."-haha.
I think the word you're looking for is 'fierce'
tbf i don't know how that would fit w/ the rest of the sentence, but idk : deal w/ it .
Yu did everything wrong from the on set
I would be with Wayne Coyne, but to be fair to Erykah the video is pretty useless.
On the other hand, Badu thought parts of the video were disgusting and degrading, so she called up her sister and got her to do them instead? Classy.
I think Erykah wins guys.
Case closed. Bring on the next beef.
classic white men in this thread.
- women gets mistreated by famously creepy old man
- BUT SHE CAN'T SPELL GOOD ON TWITTER
sort it out ffs
you're welcome. x
but you're edging towards a 'man must protect the hounour of woman' ideal here.
not really. it's just the point of the argument isn't really her spelling
It was more of an aside. But your assertion that 'woman gets (sic) mistreated by famously creepy old man' is hardly rubber stamped.
she is a woman
he is a famously creepy old man
in her opinion, she was mistreated
doesn't detract from Wayne Coyne being a bit of a dick. She asked for something in a contract and received a promise; he didn't consult her and broke her trust. Just a bit of a dick really. Even if he does like playing around with giant zorbs and glitter cannons on stage.
she's crazy and rambling because she's been mistreated. not the other way round
I like her, but you can't deny her twitter feed is pretty special at times.
ok. fair enough, i remember when i used twitter i blocked her almost instantly because her feed consisted of retweets of other people's praise of her.
Something you didn't mention in your original post. So, whilst you may protest you just stated facts, you chose to portray one side of the story.
whether someone was mistreated or not is up to the person that was mistreated innit
Because then you'd have utter carnage
and yes he is a pillock, but he is funny. Had a huge tirade with with his wife on the phone, got grumpy and made everyone watch an american basketball match on espn at 7am
But the man should not be allowed near Twitter.
They took the video down and apologised. It sounds like an administrative fuck-up more than anything else.
the flaming lips 2k12 involved in a publicity stunt?
Bomb waiting to go off.
it's obviously BS, come on guys
That's only half of it too.
really think we should be giving her the benefit of the doubt here. if it does turn out that it's a publicity stunt it would be in extremely poor taste. there's nothing to indicate that it is.
if a person of either sex claims that they've been exploited or violated i'd be inclined to take the claim seriously. this isn't about gender war and white-privilege is trying to troll.
that album came out on RSD
Thumbs up if you came here cos of the glittery ass
by copious amounts of lsd. I still think they were ace at primavera last year.
Oh, and his wife isn't bad at all.
"Erykah Badu is a flip-flopping mentalist"?
If you bother reading her twitter feed (and it is hard work) you can tell that she was A-OK with it all until some of her fans decided it was degrading and now she's SUPER PISSED. I honestly don't know what she was expecting. She knew what the video entailed to the point that she wasn't willing to participate herself and got her more liberal minded sister to do it instead, whereupon she spent several days proclaiming how amazing she was for being in it in the first place.
Of course, this could all just be part of a viral stunt anyway.
Vid is silly. Cover is still lovely. Nothing of value has been lost.
