in a good or a bad way?
few years ago (I think it was a part of the Electric Proms gig); there he was brilliant. Last year I had second from the front row tickets for his gig at The Royal Festival Hall. He played a really really long set. I got all The Kinks classics that I wanted to hear but they were interspersed amongst a lot of solo stuff that I wasn't familiar with and found a bit boring. Nonetheless, a great night out. The third time was also last year, but he was supporting Bon Jovi at Hyde Park. He seemed ok there but I can't comment too much when I was stood half a mile away from the stage. I see that he's playing The Royal Albert Hall. I'll probably leave that gig but if you haven't seen him, do go. You'll have a great time. When Waterloo Sunset and Days are played, it's worth the inevitable very high ticket price alone.
It's a real shame as I'm a total Kinks fanboy.
playing with some choir or something. I was more pissed off with everyone around me though, most annoying twat filled crowd i've ever been in.
it's true his voice isn't what is used to be, but still very good.
two or three years ago. He had a full band with with him, brass and everything, played all the hits. It was good in that environment but I thought the Kinks hits lacked the rawness of the original recordings. Can't replace Dave Davies guitar sound.
so does he mainly focus on his solo material then? dunno if i can be fucked with that
