Elizabeth Fraser tickets? It's a meltdown.
This happens every time a big gig goes on sale, you'd think they'd sort it out.
through on the phones.
Still no luck.
for the 7th August. Apparently, they've only got singles in the front stalls and they're right at the side. I was told that the best ones they had, which I went for, were a pair in row d in the rear stalls. Looks like a near instant sell out.
I managed by some miracle to get through on the phone and get pretty good seats.
mine. I forgot which seat numbers I got. Maybe they can't send out any email confirmations due to their crap system.
The lovely woman on the phone as much as said not to bother with their website.
see that for the 7th August Elizabeth Fraser concert, all of the front stalls have sold out and half the rear stalls.
after a 15 min wait
Website fell over 5 minutes before they went on sale. I started ringing the booking line then, already a queue but got through after about ten minutes. Friend spent 50 minutes on the phone before she got though. I managed to get row C, she got K (for Liz Fraser) Doubt they'll be anything left for non-members unless they've held some back? I hate the Southbank website, this happens EVERYTIME for popular gigs.
better to phone than use the internet. The same thing happened to me when Patti Smith curated in 2005 (I think). Anyway, in all the excitement I forgot that CocoRosie are also on the bill. I got myself a solitary front row ticket for that easily. My credit card bill doesn't look too healthy now.
I was so nervous when I couldn't get through online or by phone, so I ran out out of work, jumped in a cab and went straight to Southbank Centre and saw not a single soul buying tickets. 30 minutes after they went on sale I got my front row tickets for the first night and row D for the second. I cried in relief. Have been waiting 28 years for this to happen. This seems like the best way if you are a member.
and got tickets easily
I just got 2 Elizabeth Fraser tickets from Ticketmaster, rear stalls but better than nothing...
are pretty good seats anyway - i've been near the back row in the corner of the balcony before and even that was fine. Royal Festival Hall is one of those rare venues where you don't have to worry about where you are sitting.
which is lucky as I'd forgotten to pick up a Basinski ticket. All sorted.
even to the official site is saying balcony only left
