I don't 'get it'.
they're really funny lol!
I wish people would stop trying to 'get' stuff and just listen to music they actually like.
But at the same time, there is that constant buzz about an amazing this, or that. Maybe it's semi-paranoia and people don't what to miss out. Sometime the language is couched in "oh well i wouldn't expect YOU to like it, you can go back to girls aloud, loser face" NB this isn't directed at you, or even LCD.
two separate comments btw, I really do think 45:33 is their magnum opus, and you should give it a go if you really want to find something of there's to get into.
i find most the music i've heard by them monotonous. prove me wrong!
Different to a lot of their stuff and has a really nice build/release, loved by people I know who can't stand them normally.
kinda, but not really, like dance music?
If you don't like them, that's cool. You don't have to like everything. I happen to think they are amazing.
But I am not going to try to convince you - if their music doesn't, then I won't be able to.
...see them live, if that was still possible. I converted a few friends that way.
his band, and he is the beating heart, wit, 'soul', whatever. and he permeates it all. relate to him, and you'll relate to the music.
and IDK, if you haven't 'got' them by now, maybe you never will.
btw, trying to get stuff is great, and if we just stuck with what we liked, we'd never grow.
Then you will understand Lcd Soundsystem . Just a tribute act essentially ,still good though and fun. Just not original.
LCD *slightly* advanced on the forumla laid down by Liquid Liquid..
But I'd be surprised if you can't find something to like between these two, which are their best songs IMO

These really nail the happy-but-melancholic vibe, which is one of my favourite things in music ever
tbh I think they're one of those bands where you had to have been part of a certain demographic at a certain time to really enjoy them and i would find it kind of weird if you DID like them
I didn't intend to stay up that late, and while I did want to watch it, I was probably more hooked in by the 'event' of it all.
That gig absolutely blew me away, even just watching it at home on a small monitor. So I suggest you try and see the Shut Up And Play The Hits documentary (which incorporates and revolves around that last gig) as soon as it becomes readily available.
If listening to this from start to finish doesn't move you at all, maybe it's just not for you.
(How does that video only have 350,000 views?)
at all. And that film about the last gig? Urgh, fuck the fuck off.
For me, they represent a victory for lack of imagination
If it does nothing for you then they're probably not for you really.
i miss that band
I never could get into them, then three weeks ago I listened to that Franz Ferdinand cover of theirs 'Live Alone' and I love it!
So much so, that it has been on heavy rotation since then, makes me want to have a look at the rest now. :D
It's pretty amazing. Was the highlight of the film for me, and isn't even one of my favourite of their songs.
so you know, don't dismiss it completely.
