loving the first track, and the second seems ok
what are your thoughts
^pretty much sums up my thoughts.
Gotham is a 6/10
honeycomb is pretty good, doesn't really give much of an indication of what the next album will sound like. it's like a fusion of all their styles in one.
SO FUCKING GOOD I CANNOT ENVE BELIVE IT> CANT TYPE FUCK.
it was my favourite one from the tour last year and it just sounds so amazing.
Gotham is pretty good
i love it
They have such high expectations to live up to for me now, and I guess I felt a little disappointed with most of the post-Merriweather Avey Tare/Panda Bear singles, even though I ended up really liking both records (especially Tomboy)... But these tracks made an immediate impression on me, so much crammed into 2 songs! Can't wait for the album.
I was worried after buying Transverse Temporal Gyrus for RSD that all of their new stuff was going to sound like that.
actually prefer Gotham to Honeycomb so far.
Either way this is some of the most visceral music i've heard for a while. Maybe it's just because Ive been mainly listening to Drake.
it feels like...summer is over, and from now on we get a sadder, more introspective and grown-up AC. which, whilst fascinating and brilliant and something to love in a different way, is kind of a downer :(
their childhoods were over years ago, and yet only now does their music reflect that.
a measure of the extended-into-the-twenties hipster youth.
even Strawberry Jam felt like a tantrum, y'know?
Honeycomb is fantastic
but actually found this hard to listen to. Can you cram too much into a song?
it's basically the same melody for most of it.
there're lots of sounds on top of one another
which felt like an overloaded computer on the edge of a crash. Then again, it might have been the way I was feeling yesterday. I'll return today with fresh ears.
Not really sure on the production of either of them though, sounds very messy and muddy, very wall of sound-y, it might be an intentional thing.
