as a kid. My best friend had this semi-NSFW poster in his room
http://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/6800000/Janet-Jackson-3333-janet-jackson-6878352-1024-768.jpg and I never understood how his mom let him have it!
(if you're nasty)
I am for real
than Michael Jackson's Bad.. I think... keep trying work out comparisons with other albums in this era, Sign O The Times maybe? Anyway, title track is a killer, new jack swing with the production ethic of Public Enemy.
Oh, Control has some great tracks as well, compared to the overblown production of Rhythm Nation it's practically a kraftwork record.
I love the production on RN.
Nuno Bettencourt who went on to be in Extreme, "more than woooords" and all that. Why do I retain this info...
Had no idea.
Anyway, Smash Hits it appears lied to me, it was a guy called Dave Berry, apologies.
Did anyone ever see the Rhythm Nation black and white short film? There was the most incredible dance routine involving chairs that I remember from it, though scriptwise it was up there with Purple Rain.
Also, incredibly, there's still legal action going on over that fucking superbowl thing years ago. Absolutely unbelievable.
thing but I bet thats what most people think of when they hear Janet Jackson.
which I personally like better than Bad.
The Magis Is Working
really like the velvet rope too
yea real good. my other faves are go deep, together again, the title track & obv. got 'til it's gone
Not liked the sound of much else. May need to give it another go.
if you like the new jack sound then rhythm nation is must have, and yeah Velvet Rope is a sensual masterpiece. Damito Jo is a great late career pop album as well. Has some great stuff on there. I mean, if you love the sound of Control in a singular way, then maybe the other stuff isn't for you, but her voice is pretty unchanged. I would def listen to Velvet Rope again.
nice one, dunno if i'd heard before. anyone vote for i want you in the kanye poll?
Bit of a banger
first half is flawless.
Just feels natural.
