So yeah, ignoring that thread about the hilarious drama that went on at the Good Ship in Kilburn a few months back, I unwittingly gave them a spin when Mick_Squalor posted a link to a BBC session in the musical fails thread.

Fuck me. This is great stuff. I've been listening to the few songs they have online a fuckload for about a week now.

The single is completely incredible. Listen to it below. So much fun. I find myself unable to not press 'replay' when it finishes, which is always a good sign. The section where it goes off its tits at 2:05 completely blows my fucking grin open.

  Hard to know how to word it. You can kind of tell he could sing perfectly in tune, but just fecking screams it instead half the time so it doesn't in even matter if it's in tune or not.

The animation-y stuff on the video's great.

I find the self-concious wackiness of it all cloying though. It feels a bit like the musical equivalent of wearing a novelty tie to the office. (Sorry Mick_Squalor)

  - I've not actually heard your other songs so can't really comment.
    
    It's a personal taste thing rather than something you should probably change though. I remember seeing an American band called Doofus at the Luminaire who I absolutely hated for self-conscious wackiness reasons. But the gig had pretty much sold out and it went down well with pretty much everyone there so plenty of people thought they were doing something right!

        lyrics - IMO the first verse of the song might not sound v.strong
        
        but they were things that happened when we were together.
        
        Singing Style - That's just my voice, i don't understand how it's Wacky in anyway
        
        Song Title - To be honest, there is no real point in song titles. So they generally come last.
        
        Video - We had to make a video for the song, we don't have much money, so we used stuff lying around my house / my house.

The song's definitely got some nice elements to it.

But if i was allowed to be critical, I'd say that my immediate impression was that it's been done before.

Would be interested to check other tracks out though.
