Woohoo, so glad they have been announced!
getting up "early" to see them at Leeds on a Sunday is not the one.
but isn't it commonplace for Reading to have fairly small/indie bands- off the top of my head Raging Speedhorn, The Pipettes and Dillinger Escape Plan have all opened the main stage.
worked wonders for them
Ooberman open it one year?
The Moldy Peaches definitely did.
people what post on DiS boards done good, let's be happy for them, yeah?
no one listens to the first band on the main stage, everyone sits down with some lunch and beer/cider in front of that stage nursing their hangovers and come downs
I made an effort to be up in time for the first acts on the main stage. DEP opening was incredible :D
Moldy Peaches in 2001 and/or 2002
2001 was the mighty THE DONNAS. No idea why I remember this.
Did the people watching them enjoy it? What else matters!
as did Mariachi El Bronx
when the first batch of the line up was announced.
maybe this is why i've not been invited to play. not yet anyway.
They have a lot to do to beat this
11am has never sounded so good
the 5,6,7,8's opened the main stage...
as mentioned above Raging Speedhorn previously held that set, and Los Campesinos are another band with more members than necessary and a questionable vocalist who have toured a crazy schedule to gain a cult fanbase. they deserve it.
these opening slots on the main stage were pay to play, dunno if this is still the case but even if so that's a wise investment of that Bud money and considering how many other acts would be bidding for a place I still think congrats are in order
Nah - I'm not having it. I mean good luck to them 'n' all but... nah.
that is definitely bullshit
i would love it if they didn't play you! me! dancing!
They should carry on doing that.
Who gives a fuck how big bands who've done it before are now or how it'll help the "career prospects"?
It sounds like something that'd be awesome fun. Good luck to 'em!
(for want of a better word)
This is a really sad thread.
