Unless I put my iPhone in another room.
Too bloody distracting.
This isn't good.
unless I put the music in another room.
if I sit down and listen to music and my iPhone is within reach all I do is start playing with it.
I'm saying I can't concentrate on music any more unless my phone is in another room! I never used to be so distractable. Isn't good.
Make sense now?
Probably wasn't worth starting a thread about anyway.
at times. I can't listen to music properly. That's why music is so important in my life. If I can't listen to it properly, it means that the shit that surrounds me is taking over. Focus!
isn't it? It is for me. Reading the paper, drawing, typing replies on DiS message boards...
when you turn it back on you have a pileup of calls/emails/messages whatever, is nice.
when I should be writing my dissertation
wish it could just fuck off
I'm usually doing work / reading / wasting time online / playing Simcity / something at least. is that unusual?
i like going for a walk + listening to music or sometimes just sitting down + having a drink/biscuits if i'm listening to music. mostly i'll do it while aimlessly browsing the internet or studying though yeah.
though oddly since getting into vinyl, I will often just perch in front of the turntable like a dog or something and watch it spin while listening to it. Love doing that.
I lay in my bed with the tv on-volume right down subs on, if I'm really enjoying what I'm listening to for example nils frahm-felt I'll close my eyes and give the music my full attention. It's strange when you shut your eyes your ears really sharpen up the sound
Its basically about this sort of thing. Modern technology as a constant distraction, and people being unable to apply themselves to deep thought.
