Like in Arctic Monkey's 505, the build before the finale. Brill. Makes me want to stand up and cheer!
Yeah, I think so. ^ especially on Poison Arrow, eh.
where it goes into a middle 8 then a key change back into a verse.
invented indie rock. I might be wrong about that, but I don't think so.
But I am also infatuated with the one in Fascination by Alphabeat.
but have now corrected that. Cheers.
nothing spectacular just a nice key change.
Those chiming walls of Rickenbackers get me every time. They really should never have gotten rid of Dave Gregory.
Although I can imagine not wanting to hang around with Andy Partidge too
Ever Fallen in Love is pretty good
Coda is so great too. these guys man.
I actually get a wobbly feeling in my gut and prickly skin sometimes when they go into the key change/guitar solo, it's just one of *those* moments.
Spilt Milk is one of the best pop albums of all time, why everybody isn't constantly raving about it is a complete & utter mystery to me. And it's just a fucking tragedy that they broke up when they did, hard not to imagine they had at least one more classic in them. Kind of like if XTC had called it a day after English Settlement, so sad.
Best bit of the song by far
Dear daddy, I write you, in spite of years of silence...
"if i'm afraid to catch a dream..." gives me shivers every time.
criminally he sometimes doesn't play this part live.
That unhinged guitar solo followed by "Holy sweet goddamn, you left your cello in the basement..." Goosebumps every time.
And I can't think of anything else off the top of my head so I'll stick with my 13 year old self.
