from Miami last night on youtube now:
Cut a Hole: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZZhZdlkEEQE
more of the same TKOL type noise?
I'd say Identikit definitely so, Cut a Hole perhaps leaning more towards In Rainbows I'd say.
Apparently the full set list was:
02 “The Daily Mail”
03 “Morning Mr. Magpie”
05 “The National Anthem”
06 “Meeting In The Aisle”
07 “Kid A”
08 “The Gloaming”
10 “You And Whose Army?”
13 “Lotus Flower”
14 “There There”
20 “Cut A Hole”
21 “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi”
22 “Give Up The Ghost”
24 “Karma Police
New songs, fine, yeah whatever...
what the FUCK is up with that ponytail?
then the idea that they wear their hair in a pony tail certainly is. Thom Yorke's hair does look criminally bad though.
Next time any of you slag off the NME for similar reasons
... but then I'm one of the (apparently) few who really loved 'King of Limbs', as well
But he'd still cream himself over High & Dry
that modern Radiohead fans wouldn't recognise anything from KoL and just want the really early stuff. (Pablo Honey "contain(s) the kind of gems that would sparkle in any arena" - the vast majority of people only know one song from it, and Radiohead's reticence to play it since about 1997 is legendary!)
I'd be wondering how many albums of leftfield clattering we'd actually have to make so people stop coming to gigs expecting to hear Creep.
Cut a Hole sounds like something that could be really good in studio but doesn't translate that well live. Identikit is really good.
The new songs are alright. I think that Identikit could be a top track with a little tweaking. Cut A Hole feels a bit too... classic rock? They play with the tempo a bit but I prefer TKOL Radiohead to OKC Radiohead, and The Daily Mail is probably my single least favorite track from the TKOL era... so Cut A Hole isn't really my thang. Yet.
Sounds like a good B-side from the The Bends/OKC era, like Bishop's Robes. I guess I'm just over "big crescendo Radiohead" unlike many fans.
Very forced tempo change in the middle. That second half sounds pretty excellent though.
Daily Mail just sounds like a not so good You and whose army.
Not so sure about Cut a Hole
