Now this is a fucking tune:
awesome video too. I can see why they get ridicule from some quarters (what with the hair and everything), but this rocks.
actually a lot better than most of suck it and see
In a good way
It sounds like a track with Alex Turner doing the lead vocal, but that's about it. I like it. I hesitate to say it's a proper rock song... but it's a proper rock song. Mainstream British bands should be doing more stuff like this.
or else he's watched Limmy's Show
but that video is horrendous and self indulgent. they should have called it gary greaser and charlie chav's night out
Seems one of the band members is staying out of this video-making business however (unless he's one of the masked cow-girls, which is potentially even more admirable).
I still like it.
Best video? Most definitely.
i get pretty bored of their riff based songs to be honest, a bit simplistic for me.
and great lyrics?
and hated all the "elvis costello fronting the rakes" lyrics. But reversed my opinion when suck it and see came out.
but this is kind of great, the earlier stuff for me sounds a bit weak musically but then the more recent stuff seemed to lack the witty lyrics which made them stand out in the first place, and even though humbug/sias are heavier it was a bit too dirgy and QOTSA-lite for me, but this song is the perfect blend of both worlds.
And I am of the belief that Humbug and Suck it and See are their best work.
i also beleive that Humburg and Suck It and See are their best work
I've got total faith in this band just getting better and better, they're improving all the time. Plus, their look and attitude might not be to everyone's taste but I reckon they're the coolest fuckers going.
This song is just fantastic and the video looks like they're having the time of their lives.
kind of annoying when people say they miss the "old Arctic Monkeys". The group are clearly improving with each release.
He looks like a right prick in the video.
But I'm still not that into'um, its still too contrived, if they keep on like this they're in danger of maing one of those dodgy QOTSA albums no one remembers in the next 20 years. Imagain that... Pick up the pace, grow some vibes and keep the video promo team and the Monkeys might be onto something...
Didn't they joke that Richard Hawley was robbed when they won the Mercury
