with the guy with the beard?
Not officially due out until April. Pre-release with different artwork.
Available from all good charity shops for circa £1.50.
So I'll second that.
from an odd little vinyl stall that sometimes sits at the top of Middle Meadow Walk in Edinburgh.
You'll like them.
They deliver, you see. Some might almost say that that's the point.
Keeps on going on about how you as a listener owe it to him to spend your money in his store to keep independent record shops alive.
I agree that we need to keep indie record stores going, but I choose to spend my money in stores other than his for the amount of ranting he does.
His argument with Los Campesinos is a great example.
I had the misfortune to see The Locust live supporting the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I have to say the silent bits between each "song" were awesome but then they'd go back to punishing me for I don't know what! I have lost all respect for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and can't bring myself to listen to their music anymore just in case I remember The Locust. Why would a label sign them when there are so many great unsigned bands? They are so aweful and no one in their right mind should even think of buying their CD! Why can't I give them no stars!!!
I love the bit when he says he can't listen to the YYYs anymore in case he remember The Locust.
I remember seeing the locust supporting yeah yeah yeahs, it made me like the yeah yeah yeahs even more cos of it. It was possibly the worst reaction to a support band i've ever seen!
Never seen so much hatred towards any band in my life. They were intense though. I remember between songs there would be complete silence and Justin Pearson would just stand completely still, tilt his head to the side and glare at someone in the audience for 10 seconds before going into the next track.
or giant steps by john coltrane.
I'd have to say 'The Best Of The Beatles'.
