I'm going on Friday but remember reading a couple of years ago that they're a bit shit live.
Saw them at Shepherd's Bush Empire in 2006 or so, was very disappointed. Most disappointing gig I've been toI'd say in fact.
they were awful when I saw them
They're crap live. I only go to see them play songs from their first album. Unfortunately, those songs are played poorly too. Having typed this reply, I feel foolish for seeing a band four times knowing that they're shit live. Luckily, I didn't buy a ticket for their Shephers's Bush gig next month.
Luckily it's in Galway, great town.
... I'm kinda hoping they swap back.
compared to the Dublin gig.
I was gonna go to the Birmingham gig on the 6th "on the fly", really loved the first album.....dunno if i want to waste 12 quid, i could get a lot of fried chicken with that.
utter dog balls...and I don't mean in the way that dog balls are shiny.
...don't think so anyways.
that they've become a better live band since the hiatus. also it seems to have become the hip thing to slag them off now. and the roisin is a great venue for them. it'll be a great gig, keep faith
and I'm loving Hysterical. Hoping for a pleasant surprise.
and a couple months ago. They have greatly improved in the years and Hysterical is a very underrated record.
Should be a fun gig
Started off a bit ropey and I'm thinkin "balls, the rumours are true", but it all came together nicely. The sound guy seemed to really struggle with the new material (shame, hysterical is in my top 3 of 2011) but the older stuff blew the hat off the place. Good gig in a great venue in a great city.
