Your New Favourite Weapon = Pablo Honey
Deja Entendu = The Bends
Devil & God = Ok Computer
I'm a huge fan of Daisy and what a progression from Favorite Weapon to get there.
Cannot wait for the 11th
I can see the comparison though in terms of development of sound and all that.
I know people love YFW though so i'll stop there
May have even been NYE, anyway. Hits, followed by the whole of Your New Favorite Weapon, followed by an acoustic set. Would have killed to be there.
Think there is pretty decent footage of it all on YouTube
That is some setlist. Would have loved to have been at that show!
I had it on Seatwave for £150 but no takers :(
This is a joke btw, I'm just waiting to hear back from a mate, but it's probably going to go begging.
It does seem like it's followed on a lot from Devil & God. Like it's not as big a step as there was between Favourite Weapon and then Deja and then Devil & God.
Feels very much like Devil & God part II, which is in no way a bad thing.
like Devil and God (like Ok Computer) has a pretty epic narrative/dynamic and Daisy it quite a step off that, it just that Daisy fails in that its not quite expiermental/confident enough
Not really all that experimental.
Listen to Noro and tell me that isn't one of the most oddly funky songs you've heard
Are Brand New the kings of the album closing track?
Think about it, Soco Amaretto, Play Crack The Sky, Handcuffs and Noro.
Handcuffs is my least favourite of those tracks by quite a distance and yet Devil and God is comfortably my favourite album of theirs.
But it works well in the context of the album.
Also TDAG is one of the few records where the bonus tracks (aloC-acoC and Luca Reprise) add to the album as a whole.
might be why you don't like it as much, just a different tone isn't it?
