Now I just need Northern Uproar to reform and i'll have won my game of 'shit bands bingo.'
And yes I'm being a bit harsh on Dodgy, Satisfied was a tune.
I just wanted to see if anyone else remembered Northern Uproar, for a while I thought I'd dreamt them.
the shittest fight ever
Northern Uproar shit all over your so called Dodgy, those guys were nothing but peroxide blonde, pork pie hat wearing jizz bags.
Also didn't one of them get off with Denise Van Outen? I can't imagine anything more 90's than one Of Dodgy getting off with Denise Van Outen. I hope Ocean Colour Scene were stood watching and throwing pogs at them.
People who go on about how we need old fashioned rock'n'roll to return to the charts should be forced to watch that.
I saw them play at the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival (!) last year. If memory serves, they were second on the bill below Brotherhood of Man.
They played Summer Sundae in 2008, coinciding with a proper stair-rod rainstorm that, and this is one of those happy moments where bullshit and actuality combine, pretty much only relented for the length of Staying Out For The Summer.
and I'm glad they're back, although a recent gig in Bristol (the first time I had seen them in 14 years) was a little marred by the singer being petulant for the "greatest hits" second half of the show. New album sounds decent though and Mathew Priest is, and will always be, a legend.
either way, yeah, he was/is a fine drummer.
i used to love them back in the day, so it was great fun singing along with them, even if they did look like something had taken its toll...
Got a sort of Midlakey/Fleet Foxes thing going on.
It was one of the first records I owned so I listened to it to death. Some alright stuff on there, I liked their mellower songs.
