Not bad at all. It's a grower.

  • Aye, gave it a spin yesterday.

Pretty good....but not as fun as the last one I don't think. Needs some more listens.

    • Trust me, it's a grower. I've listened to it about 10 times by now and it's sounding much better already.

  • I loved the first one when it came out

but I haven't returned to it at all in about a year. Hmm. Will have to give this one a try later.

    SCROTUM this'd this
  • Only listened twice so far, so this is a rough assessment

IT'S BLOODY HUGE as expected, seems a little less riffy than the debut, more punky, less sludgy and grungy. Crucially it still sounds and feels like Pulled Apart By Horses. I really, really like it, but currently feel that it doesn't quite reach the highs of the best bits on the debut, but I knew most of that material before it was on the album so it's hard to compare. Can't wait to go mental to it all live, that's where the real test will be.

  • I love it.

As said above it's just bloody massive. It's not the same as the debut but I think that's a good thing, there's no way they could have stuck to that template/those style songs forever. I've had it for a while now and certainly is a grower.

I spoke to them about it too if anyone's interested; http://bit.ly/yXcTMZ

  • Bought tickets yesterday for the Electric Ballroom gig next month.

I saw them for the first time last year supporting Les Savy Fav. Didn't know much about them but they blew me away that night. Those riffs crunched up to 11 sounds fucking great.
