The new additions to the event as chosen by Jeff Mangum are as follows:
•Roscoe Mitchell (Art Ensemble of Chicago)
•American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) performing Gavin Bryars' Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet
•Yamantaka - Sonic Titan
Jeff has also invited ATP to curate the Reds venue at Butlins on the Saturday of the event, and today we can confirm the following artists will perform:
I guess it's done in good 'humour', I'm just curious why you're such a constant bore about it.
I'm far from a fan boy, only been to one, just thought I'd ask.
And buy a ticket. I just can't quite do it.
We need jamie summers to give us some insider info (and to confirm or deny the national nbc rumour also)
JESUS BLOOD NEVER FAILED ME YET OH MAN
the other day. Intrigued.
Would be pretty great, completely out of place on the bill but still
i have mixed feelings on these. interesting to see so much experimental / improv stuff on there... it's not a scene i know much about, so it could be nice to sample a few bits here and there. also, demdike stare are great.
it's not really stuff to get the blood racing, though, is it? they're all really sombre (particularly ATP's own choices) and feel slightly inconsistent alongside the rest of the lineup... can't help but feel a bit meh, particularly when the bands lost in the rescheduling were so much better than those announced since.
I really like some of the bands announced but nothing so far has made up for the loss of Tinariwen and Group Inerane.
some great additions there, and the rumours about the nbc curators are making me think that i might as well just go to this one. plus, it'd be nice to be able to attend a non-decmber atp that doesn't clash with exams.
