Jacob Bannon is a bit of a no brainer for the men.
I like kat katz, especially in salome, for the ladies.
That man can do ANYTHING!
powerful stuff, huh? i really wish i could find some more vocal jazz recordings in a similar style. the closest i've got is the early sonny sharrock records with his wife on.
any fans of diamanda galas should definitely check out patty. i believe she was a big influence on her actually.
Not completely comparable to Waters or Black Woman, but maybe you should try this one:
A female Peruvian throatsinger, musically accompanied by Les Baxter.
cheers, for the rec; loved that. arrington de dionyso makes some fantastic tuvan throat singing inspired stuff:
her voice reminded me a little bit of catherine ribeiro for some reason:
As I like Old Time Relijun, I will definitely check out that Dionyso record.
I don't quite see the Ribeiro resemblance, but am a big fan of Ribeiro myself. Her first 4 records were all equally as great.
You've heard "Comme à la Radio" by Brigitte Fontaine?
also the dude from Fucked Up
guy from harvey milk
Of course! Wounded animal style!
Obviously. See Rock Music...
or then again
The deep-voiced one out of Neurosis, forget if it's Kelly or Von Till
As illustrated beautifully with this video full of amazing face-pulling
He hasn't done any vocals for the last few albums D':
But Tim Kinsella in Cap'n Jazz wins out for me I reckon.
is like aural catnip for me.
Or, actually, high-pitched ones in general. Blood Brothers et al. Loud, intense, and as un-manly as possible please.
Female:Runhild was the first name that came to mind
it would have to be angie huwe from xmal deutschland, here on Incubus sucubus (the first (dirty) version) it is more of a howl than a scream I suppose
it's never been beaten. the power, the clarity, mah gawd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRv2XY99EvY
Growling: Howling Wolf. Or Beefheart. I prefer the screamers.
Jamie from Reuben
Daryl Palumbo losing his shit
Charlie from Fightstar has a suprisingly good one
Tim Williams from Vision of Disorder the best screaming voice in the world, no arguments.
now he sounds a bit hoarse and dodgy. Still cool though
Why the hell has no one mentioned Phil Anselmo from Pantera/Down yet?
Tom from Charlottefield/Sweet Williams. Amazing depth
Or Frank Black or Charles Thompson or whatever he's actually called.
In a completely different league from those mentioned so far.
Yoko Ono <cringe!!>
Also I like Troy from Mastodon's bellow quite a lot
MY ONLY PURPOSE HERE IS FOR YOU TO FFFFFFEEEEEEEAAAAAAAUUURGRHGRHGRHD
