American colleges etc.
...it would appear that they are still a functioning band in The US whereas their records don't get released in The UK due to a label dispute.
Jet make more than the likes of DJ Shadow. It's expected, I know, but it's still a bit of a downer.
With the current exchange rate I think that's about 250 quid.
Dave Matthews for the whole wad...or DM tribute band for $5K? Nah, skip it.
I'm gonna take Katy Perry...but I only need her for 12 minutes: $55K
The National: $40K
Broken Social Scene, seems like a bargain to get 'em back together: $50K
Menomena, wanna hear 'em twice; plus I'm gonna a throw 'em another $5K for getting back together, cos I felt guilty for not sweetening the pie for BSS: $25K
Of Montreal: $20K
St Vincent: $20K
Also, I've done the math, so I know these numbers are inflated...but I've got an imaginary mil, so wtf...
Janelle Monae: $75K
Madonna for Holiday, Into the Groove, Lucky Star: $125K
Alien Ant Farm, just for that MJ cover: $1K (take it or leave it)
Fiest (low bid, she can skip the encore): $50K
Arcade Fire, ah, go the full pop: $150K
Adele, just those 3 songs I like, please: $75K
The English Beat (bargain!): $10K

A well spend imaginary million!
when you offer them 250 DOLLARS each to play your gig
The second column has him at $10k+.
This is what you'd pay if you were a college or private party or something. Gig promoters wouldn't pay 20k to hire Alien Ant Farm ffs.
There's no official 'list prices' for gigs. I call BS.
Sheikh Mansour paid £4 million to get Kanye & Jay-Z to play for his daughter.
for what a band gets for a date on a tour. It's the equivalent of them playing one of the UK fresher balls/end of term uni parties: vastly inflated and/or variable prices.
they probably wouldn't make it for a whole in the UK (where they supported Frank Turner last tour they had here)
Cage The Elephant, Papa Roach, OK Go, Sevendust, Yellowcard and P.O.D?!
Now I'm not a fan but surely Jared Leto's Jesus project is playing far larger venues and far more prominent festivals/festival slots than any of those forgotten bros?
does that mean if we all club together and raise $36,500,000 we could get them to shut up for a whole year?
I went to Bonnaroo last year and they played, mid-afternoon on the second outdoor stage. they had probably 50,000 of the 90,000 crowd watching them. baffling.
Latitude before last I reckon they had the biggest main arena audience of anyone.
Anyway, yeah, they had a massive boost from playing last year's Grammys, bigger sales increase than anyone who actually won one.
at the Arcade Fire Hyde Park show that went home straight after Mumford & Sons.
shucks better start saving
where Muse are doing well but not as well as in the UK.
Hanson - 25k
40-50k is pretty insane
one hundred thousand dollars to book a band and thinking 'I know, I'll book Creed. Everyone is gonna be SO happy when I tell them Creed are playing'. This list pretty much confirms that people are stupid.
