What's perfect to run to? Is it different if you're on a treadmill or outside? What about if you're doing weights or rowing or sit-ups or whatever else you might be doing to get a bit fitter in 2012?
I've seen a bunch of people moaning/bragging about going to the gym already this year, so was wonder what you all listen to whilst working off those pints of crisps. Albums? Compilations? Playlists you've made yourself? Are remixes sometimes better than the originals due to the repetition?
From your suggestions I'll try to throw together the ultimate DiSsers gym playlist or something like that. Maybe.
My personal favourites to blast in the gym are these but I've kinda played them to death and need some inspiration...
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile
Has something for every mood but mostly it implants the image of Trent being your angry personal trainer in your head, and who wants to let that dude down? Works a bit better indoors than outdoors.
Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours
Especially good album to run to, as is Zonoscope (especially the quite literal mentions of running). Upbeat and not too fast (whereas, like the new Friendly Fires album killed me when I took it out for a run in the sun last summer)
John Maus - We Must Become...
Quite surprised how great this is to run to, it just kinda pulses away and washes over you.
I often just stick him on shuffle. Most things on DFA, Modular and Ed Banger are pretty good in the gym tbh. The kinda dance music that you might dance to if it came on in a club, and then quickly go back to the bar like it never happened.
Just made myself this playlist to put on this morning...
Cut Copy – Blink And You'll Miss A Revolution - Toro y Moi Remix
Nine Inch Nails – Slipping Away
John Maus – Believer
Battles – Tonto (The Field Remix)
Foals – Hummer
LCD Soundsystem – Pow Pow
Caribou – Odessa
Animal Collective – Brother Sport
Metronomy – The Bay - Erol Alkan's Extended Rework
Health – Nice Girls - Blondes RMX
