Foals, The Horrors, in that vein
Bands with vox, guitars, bass, drums that have someone on keys and synths
Nothing too easygoing, avant garde, or noisy
And ones that go the extra mile but aren't so in-your-face about it i.e. Enter Shikari and not keyboardists that do so little that they just that extra touch i.e. touring keyboardists
But in your original post, the only band that comes to mind when I think of 'shredding' and 'keyboards' is... erm
You horrible person.
Every band under the sun has a guitarist and a keyboardist. Fuck sake, man.
is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Erm, any number of doom/goth-inflicted melodic death metal bands.
Isn't what you're looking for though... Severely flawed thread this one.
Like the outro of 'Future Foe Scenario'.
Good shout along w/ Rolo Tomassi, Wolf Parade, and Sunset Rubdown but I'm already familiar with these bands. Will check out the bands mentioned below.
I gave The Horrors as an example b/c of the intro to 'Scarlet Fields', for example, and Foals for, say, 'Electric Bloom'. And I said '...that shred' so I would get a slew of noise and synthpop bands mentioned.
and oceansize and kayo dot in places.
