+ possibly have a spare ticket if anyone's interested?
im interested in that spare ticket?
I'd go to this too if i could get there. Enjoy!
If people are meeting for drinks first, say where and I'm all over it.
Also got tomorrow off work. IN.
Van two of the day has broken down:
It's been a good year since I last saw them......If they don't play Destroywhitchurch I'm gonna fuckshitup
Widowspeak at Underbelly, innit.
I have a spare. Call me or something. I'll even let you have it for free just so it doesn't go to waste.
Not managed to catch them as a four piece before so lots of that was new to me.
The first 3 or 4 FOTL tracks sounded so huge due to the extra guitar. I thought Small Bones may shake the building down.
Lots of good new ones too. Only Polymers off the EP but Failed Olympic Bid was huge as was Robocop 4: Fuck off Robocop (best tshirt ever too). Wasn't so sure about the odd one about the riots but many of my now favourite FOTL songs left me cold at first.
Didn't know how I'd feel about the mclusky songs but they were good fun. The band seemed to be enjoying them and the crowd were moreso. As I prefer FOTL I'd personally rather just have 2 or 3 more of their tracks but at the same time, it was great to hear them again. And they are pretty much their best three songs.
All round great fun. Great banter and dynamic in the band. It didn't seem as taut as the Kelson days, with everyone looking scary and focused. Felt more of a celebratory vibe in the air and sense of enjoyment. But maybe that was just me...
Glad to see the set finale is the same / totally different too. Though I wasn't too sure about Jimmy's 'I trust in you' part at first.
Top band as ever. Especially given that their van broke down, they had no sound in their monitors and a total lack of a soundcheck. Look forward to the full on proper tour. They'll have to start playing 3 hour sets soon to fit in all the songs I miss.
Great second support too. Missed the first but the last 4 songs in particular were immense. Bought sone of their wares and was very impressed. Like a very good Trail of Dead. Before they got a bit pony in 2002.
Only downside was the same thing that you get with every FotL/Mclusky show: over aggressive 6ft5in+ blokes completely oblivious to anyone around them, and humourless guys who think that they can heckle the band and not sound like a dick.
Oh, and to the guy who lost his glasses: you have my girlfriend to thank for getting them back – she’s the one who spotted them on the floor.
Shame they started so late and we were stuck in the lobby for 45mins. As it turned out I only got to see 3.5 songs before i had to get the train which was a bollock. Still those 3.5 songs were good.
thought fever fever were godawful, wish they'd been bumped so i could have seen more fotl.
Yeah I got in gone 1am via some interesting choices of travel.
I don't mean of the set, I mean of the mclusky back catalogue.
Sounds similar to Cardiff. For me too, Small Bones was a favourite and just sounded huge. Being stood very near the front I though my face was going to melt off. Really enjoyed that :) After that song my mate, a FOTL live virgin, turned to me with a massive grin and just said "they're good live then..."
