I still believe in RADIO.
Cracking album, probably my fave T? record
That weird drum sound.
once make out with the lead singer of Therapy?
Cairns went up to Richey and said ‘Prove you’re not homophobic’
I always thought it was an MSP urban legend.
It was Nicky that made the comment...
I read about it in an interview with Andy Cairns
FORGET ABOUT THAT. I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT ANYTHING LIKE THAT.
STARING AT SOME PIC-TURES BY YOURSELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLF.
They're doing a tour with Skindred next year, and thanks to the sponsorship of a certain test tube-based booze manufacturer, tickets are a fiver. A FIVER! On sale Friday. Hoorah.
I'm thinking about going for the London and Leeds date, just cos it's a fiver.
It's gonna be a proper awesome gig and I'm sure Skindred are gonna pull out something special for it. Would think there will definitely be other support bands too.
COME ROUND AND FUCK YOU UP
But then they went a bit shit. I saw them in Derby in the early 90's and it was pretty brutal. (in a good way)
they're the only ones still on my ipod. I listened to Infernal Love again recently and it wasn't very good.
I listened to it again recently and there's quite a few decent tracks on it - Church of Noise, Tightrope Walker and Don't Expect Roses are all great.
I think at the time it was a bit of a divisive one because it had a bit more of a mainstream sound than their previous albums, but I liked it.
I love it. :D
was a big jump/change from troublegum however was a favourite in my youth.
And seeing as we are quoting lyrics: JAMES JOYCE IS FUCKING MY SISTER!
Both from around 2000-ish. The drums on High Anxiety are so sharp and brutal.
Anyway, I really like Shameless. Had it in my car for months and just used to play it over and over - underrated album. A mate told me that Cairns apparently doesn't like it or something, which makes me sad. :(
Is also very underrated. Quite similar to their earlier sound with Andy Cairns giving it the 'I'm stalking your sister' style vocals again. Good stuff.
Reading, er, 94 when they blew RHCP completely off the stage was magical, they had potential to become headliners in their own right after that show yet after Infernal Love they seemed to scale down massively. If I'm not mistaken they seem to be a bit of a bikers band these days :D Though will catch up with some newer stuff as it's on emusic.
The idea of something like Teethgrinder being Top Of The Pops mainstream these days feels insane...!
how times have changed, still the best two pieces of vinyl I own.
The Babyteeth EP alone puts them in my top bands of all time, that was some truly original hardcore magic.
Nurse had it's moments, Teethgrinder is genius, Troublegum was a crossover blast and High Anxiety was meaty as hell. Great production.
Suicide Pact was a beast.
but stopped listening to them after Suicide Pact... I also had Infernal Love and Semi-Detached on t'other day.
I would probably go obvious and say Troublegum is my favourite, but I also love Accelerator on Nurse:
YOU GOT NO STEADY JOB! YOU GOT NO GIRLFRIEND!
i still love that album. fell out of love with them when they released Infernal Love, cause it didn't riff out enough for my liking. I've only paid fleeting attention to them since, but they're a fantastic band.
has mentioned their most recent album, Crooked Timber. It is absolutely brilliant, one of their best. The opening track, The Head That Tried To Strangle Itself, is possibly my favourite Therapy? song of all time. It's about time the world remembered this band I think.
got ONE reply :'(
might just give this one another crack this afternoon
