Anyone else going? It's a bit of a longshot but wondered if anyone might have a spare ticket.
Also hope she does this;
spare ticket no!
The spare is for a less fortunate friend. Saw her before playing solo, this time round with a backing band should be awesome.
for fucking fucks sake.
then yes, it was pretty wise.
she was absolutely storming at QEH last night. No Big Black but she did a thoroughly wired cover of 'she's beyond good and evil' with Mark Stewart guesting. And all of her own awesome songs too, obviously.
Anyway, I'm well looking forward to this tonight.
but i really hope i don't have to miss the end running for the last train home
i did have to head off during the last song to get the train
The Party & Your Lips Are Red
it was a really good gig, pretty rammed though
They really do overfill it, don't they? Although I'm still glad that some good people saved the venue.
The posts are a pain in the arse but I quite like the fact they are stopping the roof falling in.
For a sold-out gig moving around seemed fairly easy and there was plenty of room at the back. Mind you, when Wire played there earlier in the year it was well sardines.
thought the bar staff were friendly. i was right down the front and it was a complete mission to get out...but when i got to the back there did seem to be a little bit more room. my only grumble was there was quite a bit of hanging around, it said doors 7.30pm but it was more like 8pm...was hoping cate le bon would be on a bit earlier too so i wouldn't have to miss the end of st vincent. also some people next to us heckled 'pretentious' when she was telling the story about the cruel video which seemed a bit odd, they left shortly afterwards so obviously weren't enjoying it.
great gig though, have wanted to see her for ages and she didn't disappoint. the vocals were perfect and she is an incredible guitarist.
I did this and QEH, QEH Pop Group cover was superb but I think I preferred Fleece overall, standing, smaller, not being blinded by strobes. I definitely preferred beer prices in Bristol.
Next tour please Annie and please can album four be a full blown rocker too!
Bit of a mission to see anything if you weren't right down the front, but otherwise it was peachy. Was anyone else there/have a setlist?
Surprised how much of an Axe Godess she is. Best gig i've seen in a long time.
P.S. The Brundel Social club really is the best venue in the world isn't it.
Thought she was good...but everything other than vocals/guitar were a bit too high in the mix.
Think the quiet/loud bits have more of an impact when she's solo.
but yeh, she shreds.
