Might grow on me. Not exactly a barnstorming final statement but doesn't fuck up their reputation either. Really makes me think of Cousteau's "Last Good Day of the Year".
Blue was probably actually a better final note. Maybe rerelease Radio Free Europe as a single would have been a better sendoff, dunno. Nice though may grow on me. "part lies, part heart, part truth, part garbage" is quite a funny career summation though.
...and it probably benefits from not trying too hard to be a final statement song, despite the fitting title.
I really enjoy how understated it is. Heartwarmingly happy in a low-key way rather than a pompously tearjerking goodbye. A lovely little farewell with a smile. Love the delicate orchestration too.
Owne Pallett tweeted something suggesting that he's responsible for the strings.
It's calm, understated and does feel like it's trying too hard to go out with a bang, just quietly and confidently signing off.
