Today, Drowned in Sound is 11years old. We've got some nifty bits of editorial coming up throughout October, but I thought it might be nice to kick things off with a thread about music you've discovered and adored because DiS. Either from editorial or the boards or playlists or podcasts (RIP) or whatever...

And how about using this thread as an opportunity to throw in something that you've fallen in love with but been surprised that not many people caught onto over the past 11 years?

For me, one of my many major discoveries because of this site was Boxer by The National. I had heard OF the band a fair bit and everytime I checked them out it didn't quite fall into place (especially as I was going through an electronica/ambient phase at the time, and kinda given up on indie-rock). After reading some posts on the boards I went back to the album and gave it a proper chance, and then, predictably, fell utterly utterly in love with it. And became obsessed with the band.
