Think I'm up to four for The Antlers tour in November. I can't be the only obsessive on here, so what's your "record" ?
On the Age Of Adz tour, 3 nights in a row, an amazing experience.
most for me too. would've been in the hundreds including train fairs etc. totally totally worth it.
I never understand people who go to loads and loads of different dates around the country. There are people on band forums who seem like that band is the only band they ever see live.
I think there are some on there that have seem them 200-300 hundred times.
there was a group who did this on a tour in 2005, but with the added bonus that they HAD to be at the front of queue because they HAD to be on the barrier. at the Edinburgh show they all slept on a mattress outside the venue. It was February or something and it rained. Then they got chucked out of the queue by security as they tried to just abandon the mattress in the car park :D
Actually amazed they have their own forum. They're pretty good, but not the kind of band you think would inspire disciples.
And I got to play Bradford's guitar on stage in Paris. :-)
There are a couple of other artists that come close to this but my memory isn't what it used to be. I think I might have done 7 Roddy Frame shows on the same tour around 4 years ago...
but i saw them 6 or 7 times
sorta helped that they played four shows in London though
3 times. Amazing.
Once in London and twice in Glasgow. Immense!
Primavera in May
Four consecutive nights at Brixton in June
The Forum in August
Have never followed a band around the country though.
Radiohead X4 last time around. London, Dublin and twice at All Points West.
This year..... so far and coming up.
The Decemberists x2 Glasgow and Cincinnati
Bon Iver X2 Indianapolis and Hammersmith
Gillian Welch X2 Chicago and Hammersmith
Ryan Adams X2 Oxford and Union Chapel
This list makes me look very well traveled.
5 times on the same tour
i'm not a mental
4 times, circa 2003
You all knew that was coming didn't you.
It gave me a lesson not to bother watching a band play the sameish set every night
- Feeder in 2004
- Idlewild in 2010
- Walkmen in 2010/2011
Went to both nights of Spiritualized performing LAGWAFIS at RFH. Saw two of Arcade Fire's first three London shows...which possibly are my two favourite shows ever. I've never really been able to afford to follow bands around on tour.
Exit Calm Sept/Oct 2008 - Brighton, Camden Barfly, Derby, St Albans, Hoxton bar & Kitchen & Guildford
Exit Calm June 2010 - Coventry, London, Wolverhampton, Glasgow & Barnsley
Duke Spirit May 2011 - Nottingham, Northampton, Cambridge, Glasgow & Portsmouth
not make it to the DiS gig they did in Nottingham? shame. best I've seen em
I've done it with -TOOL- ( Ozfest, Brixton ) HEALTH ( Lexington, Garage ) and The National ( Ballroom, RAH ).
Barcelona, Brighton, London, Manchester and, probably, Constellations Festival at Leeds Uni
On the Lisbon tour. Islington, Shepherd's Bush and Glastonbury?
They have like, 2 albums right? (Or at least 2 that they still play live). And haven't they just been playing the new one in full at all of their recent gigs? You really wanna see that 5 times in a couple of weeks? It's not THAT good.
Had to see Zebrahead twice as well which is something I'm never doing again.
I used to live with a girl at uni who was obsessed with Symposium. She used to follow them on their tours all the time and claimed to have seen them hundreds of times. She was friends with Wojtek Godzisz as well and brought him to our house. She told me before hand I should 'take down my Hell Is For Heroes poster as he won't like it.' I left it up.
but i saw phosphorescent 4 times in one weekend in austin 2006.
that was over about 3 years though.
other than that probably super furry animals 4 or 5 times for a few albums.
Think I saw them about four times apiece on their Funeral and Neon Bible tours. And zero times on their Suburbs tour!
Of Montreal comes close with about 2-3 a piece for the last few albums tours.
5 nights in a row at King Tuts - fucking amazing
Saw them 4 times on the last tour including the "last ever (for a while)" show at the Oran Mor.
