but Mike Watt/George Hurley pull out, lame.
I have no desire to see Panda Bear at ATP again, I wan't something.. different.
but keep trying hard
That Minutemen thing was one that I was *really* looking forward to. Shame.
at least it means one less impossible clash I suppose
I saw the same thing at an ATP about six or seven years ago, and it was just odd. Basically Minutemen songs but with no guitar and Mike Watt singing all the songs. Sounded like you'd expect from that description.
Would have been fucking cool if you'd just stumbled on Mike and George in the campsite playing together for about 15 mins, but a full hour long set of songs with no guitar just didn't work. Not that I think I watched the whole thing.
at first I was excited but then I read into this live show and heard they refuse to get in a guitarist to do the guitar parts and worked the songs around bass and drums... then I thought well I don't see this working very well and I'd probably spend most of the set underwhelmed.
Is going to be brilliant this one, for sure.
You know what I mean. Chalet party. 407!! 407!!
& yes, this is looking to have the potential for some nightmare clashes, so the fact I was hoping they'd add some rubbish bands, is being helped by Watt/Hurley being removed & Panda Bear added.
Not to call him a tosser, fancy curating an atp and not playing.
Yes i went to THAT one, and no im not going to THIS one.
Bit of a pisser really.
he kinda did a set in the swimming pool though
What a tosser.
Also, curators in most contexts don't present their own work. So don't know what you're on about really.
Yes i guess i am presenting a very complex arguement.
Panda bear was at atp around the release of his album, AC did 2 sets ( the same set both nights) of almost new material, as nice as that was, it was a little cheap considering they curated.I guess the fact Panda Bear was there all weekend around the launch of his new album at a festival he curated which may also suggest there would be a fair few of his fans there shouldnt necessarily mean that he mightve played a set.
but I'm gonna leave it at ``yes i suppose youre right``.
im eating my lunch now, hows yours?
I really want to see them again, but at the moment I'm leaning towards the NBC weekend.
Loads of energy.
File them WAY away from Dave Matthews. WAAAAAAY away.
This lineup is looking pretty tasty. Although Jeff Magnum is fucking overrated in my opinion.
really need to check out - best tv performance EVER
Really, really, really want to go to this now. Hopefully some 2 berths will become available nearer the time.
that I read
Panda Bear + Jon Spencer Blues Explosion for Jeff Scrotum ATP
