Really got rather addicted to it, I can see the criticism actually, but still works for me...
Maybe I'm going mad though...
but I can also see myself hating it in a few months or so.
I quite like Blue Jeans which is the B-side to her new single but I'm not a big fan of Video Games which is the single itself.
As it is, I really rather like Video Games. Blue Jeans sounds a bit too much like Wicked Game.
Can't go wrong with some Chris Isaak every now and again :D
it must be said, but her songs hold up well.
Video Games, Blue Jeans and Yayo are all brilliant.
From 'The Hour'
hope she does more like this but i doubt it
everything i've heard sounds quite unremarkable and she can't really 'sing'.
confused by the attention she's getting. reminds me of a time when Little Boots was everywhere...
I wish her every success that the place on the BBC Sound of 2012 list usually brings
because I watched it with her super8 style video - it adds weight to the song. Of course, it shouln't need pictures. Combined though - you get a strange childhood longing from it which is quite powerful
but nothing else that she's released. I'm sure she'll do well commercially but I have a feeling I won't dig the album.
even though Video Games has been around for about a month. Oddly, it seems to be driven by the idea she's not hideously ugly, something that'd apply to many, many more female singers who are getting an easier ride.
And none of it at all pointing out that she's already worked with Guy Chambers.
its just indie bores saying she is manufactured and not authentic enough for them to listen to
Sure I saw a link in a piece about her to an interview she gave around her debut.
Also, when did Hipster Runoff start dictating whether we're allowed to like certain artists?
but apparently not
I wish her all the luck in the blogneverse. Imagine if she kicked Adeles arse by this time next year?
Been humming Blue Jeans all week.
so what?? nothing Bowie and a million others didn't do, Christ.
who is equally amazing: http://www.facebook.com/LauraHockingMusic
but Off to the Races is good, far more going on there.
Her sound seems to have changed quite a bit now, and whilst I like songs like 'Blue Jeans' I wouldn't mind a couple more like this.
