I felt a bit ashamed getting involved.
What I always find amusing is how if someone answers any thread with a RH related response, it automatically spins off into a meta-discussion and generally reverts to ranking albums. There was a span about 8 months ago where I swear half the threads started turned out this way.
I think part of it is that people know they will generally get a response if they answer with RH. And of course the DiS collective just really loves them some Radiohead.
My favorite part of this whole thing is that people actually take other people (myself) seriously that just start arbitrarily ranking random RH albums. Its been this running DiS meme for some time and yet people still bite, see Tiresias down below.
For the record, I think they are a fine band, the topic is pretty exhausted is all.
they inspire frankly batshit fandom. twitter was excruciating around the time king of limbs came out.
Meaning a lot of newcomers to the boards probably get started there as it's an easy way in.
Doesn't mean it doesn't infuriate me though...
just a link to where the discussion goes off into thom yorkeland for a few posts.
I'm not mad at anyone, just find it amusing.
like the Jay Z laugh one.
In Limbo is the best thing they ever did, discus
I do hope so, I wonder what Thom Yorke will think.
Even if TKOL was just the weakest song Mr Magpie, still > Pablo Honey :|
Fine you prefer it, Pablo Honey does absolutely nothing for me unfortunately
it was actually a thread on radiohead that got derailed by objectivity talk (spurred on largely by me):
Here's where the question of objectivity set things off in a different direction.
in every example I'm thinking of, it's actually the debate about objectivity that derails the thread rather than the talk of radiohead (and almost always, I'm playing a key part in the derailing):
has made me laugh more than anything else so far today. Thanks very much.
In Rainbows>The Bends>OK Computer>Kid A>Amnesiac>Pablo Honey>HTTF>King of Limbs
But it wasn't derailing.
but that's how I really feel about TKOL.
Who likes it, fine, who doesn't fine.
Quite funny really. I've struggled with Radiohead since In Rainbows (which is 'fine' but has nothing on the best bits of HTTT and previous albums. Probably more heresy!
You aren't about 5'5", female, hot, 18+, hot, into 3somes, female, preferably red haired, hot or female?
Not sure why I posted that under Social either... oops...

I've decided the perfect comeback when someone doesn't share your musical tastes is "Yeah, but you'd jizz yourself if it was Radiohead".
Don't like the latest Lil Wayne? He should have got Thom Yorke to make a guest appearance then you'd be creaming yourself.
Think the the last Cut Copy album was dull? Whatever, you'd be jizzing all over it if it was Radiohead.
