ok so i'm intending on checking out all of the bands who are playing on this tiny stage. i have made a new thread because no one's talking about this stage in the other thread. which is fair enough.

i'm sure there'll be some good stuff. and some shit too. there are 4 bands who've had material uploaded so far, 3 songs each.

This Boy Wonders

fairly bog standard indie guitar stuff. not at all bad but not interesting. i enjoyed the guitar break in the second song. can't decide if i like his voice or not.

A Genuine Freakshow

nice. they've got a violin, a cello and a trumpet along with their bass/drums/guitar. nice, effective blend of arty and poppy. some bits are quite lively, some bits are quite big sounding, sound-scape-y, sigur ros stylee. nice violin playing, quite prominent in the mix at points. i wouldn't say this band were in any way twee.

The Minutes

they're a band who want to be ROCK N ROLL LIKE WHAT GOOD MUSIC WAS AGES AGO LIKE. so they're fairly competent at what they're doing but... boooooring. i find his voice slightly annoying too. second song has good energy tho. really good energy actually. oh dear the vocals on it are rubbish. now half way through the last song, i'm not gonna finish watching.

The Bronze Medal

quite alot of vocal harmonies. nice solid drum sound. lots of clean guitar sounds. lead singer looks really young. i'd say this band have potential to improve or maybe produce a good set of recordings.

best of this lot is defo A Geniune Freakshow - i like them.
