Still can't get enough of this LP.
Sounding awesome in session for Lauren Laverne on 6Music now too.
Though totally hating on whichever promoter decided he should play in Leeds the same night as Gold Panda... good job.
annoyed I missed him at Field Day
Very interested to see how it works live. Is it just him and a vocalist? Any live instrumentation?
But yeah, 'tis a grand record - even the 'spazzy' tracks are really crisp and clean somehow
When is Pharaohs going to be released to become the supersmash hit it deserves to be?
shouldn't be allowed to run the website with no-one around to sub-edit
especially after going for a pub lunch.
and chucked it on when roasting myself on a sunlounger. sounded pretty epic then and i've been listening to it a lot ever since.
though you'd like to know
but you couldn't get anywhere near the tent. And then it started raining. So yeah you didn't miss much. Great LP though.
I don't really get why this record has inspired so much love. There's been a bunch of better albums to come out of the scene, with Machinedrum and Zomby only the most recent examples.
i think it might be a bit of a surprise element - i don't think he attracted the same attention. i think this has changed though. i feel underwhelmed when i listen to the Zomby album, though i think it has some really great moments. i don't think the SBTRKT album is amazing but it does have some very solid songs. i think he'd be great as a producer
