From Here We Go Sublime is still one of my favourite albums.
Yesterday and Today was underrated imo
Yesterday and Today is bloody brilliant
I was a bit disappointed with the last one, bar 2 tracks.
The title kinda sums up the sound of the album really, it sounds more FHWGS than the last one though, loads of lovely subtle touches I couldn't really find in Y&T.
good news! i was wondering last night actually what happened to him.
i think the real measure of a true Field fan is whether you can handle, nay, love, the sound of light ep. each track is more or less 15 minutes of blissful repetition.
on that EP is the best thing he's ever done IMO
this has leaked if people dont already know
didnt think it was a problem as long as I didnt provide links. Wont be doing it again!
but somebody will have a go about you destroying the music industry and I never want to read a thread like that ever again...ever.
I haven't even opened the thread yet....
got my mitts on this. sounding very very good indeed. better than the second album. the first is untoppable though.
but this is really great
just listen to this field remix of a gui boratto tune. fucking sublime stuff.
Hope they tour again and play tiny little venues. One of the best gigs of the last few years was seeing them in a packed Bungalows and Bears in Sheffield.
Nightmare before christmas ATP, could have a tour around then?
really looking forward to this
Then It's White is the best thing I've heard this year. Love the album in general - its as good as FHWGS I reckon
I achieved absolute inner peace during the title-track
his music has that effect, for sure. this thread kicked off another mini-obsession with the field. defo need to see him live this time round.
i also highly recommend his remixes, especially of the thom yorke tune.
'From Here We Go Sublime' is one of my all time faves 'Yesterday & Today' ain't to shabby neither. Just listened to 'Looping State of Mind' for the first time and it's an absolute beauty. Hats off sir
but this thread has made me listen to FHWGS again and I think it might be THE BEST ALBUM EVER RECORDED
it is indeed a superbly sublime album. i didn't leave my cd player for months at one stage. i love the build up and subtleties of those songs.
this will be soundtracking many a train journey and revision session to come
Better than the second but not a patch on the first...
It does sound similar in style to the first album. Anyone with ears of a fox (strength if a bear, speed of a PUMA!!) figured out any of the samples yet?
Not too far off FHWGS in terms of quality.
I desperately want it!
Arpeggiated Love is particularly mind blowing
Arpeggiated Love is my jam at the moment.
It's amazing, I love it. Haven't listened to any of his other stuff before, need to have a browse later on if it's all as good as this.
pretty much faultless in fact
what a fucking amazing album. Didn't think he could outdo the first one but he has. Really fascinating hypnotic stuff.
I seriously didn't think Axel Wilner had this in him, I just thought the whole live band thing had ruined The Field forever.
But this one is just mesmerising. And yeah, better than the first. Makes it seems kind of shallow in comparison, y'know?
The title track in particular is fucking incredible.
really pays off on this one.
Axel's production's come on a lot from the Cologne way of doing things, a lot more nuanced and weird. And the live bass & drums make it all sound huge.
You get a free download of the album now. They are doing the same with the new Plaid album too
Just helping people who may not know about this
it's really good but....c'mawwnnn
First was amazing, never really listened to the second but this one is up there with the best of the year. This track in particular - wow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amKTW2RkaAc
