Don't know if anyone else has posted about this yet, sorry if they have.
This fantastically detailed series sums up how I feel about all creative endeavours; in this case looking at them as a remix.
Basically as an artist you draw inspiration from that intangible ether of past ideas and creations, and then you incorporate these past ideas into your own work. When you eventually put your own creation out there, you in turn contribute to that intangible ether, such that future artists might draw upon your ideas and build on them, or combine them with other ideas to make something else entirely.
This happens both consciously and unconsciously, and this series brings up great examples in music, film, computing, even with inventions. Well worth watching, and donating money to if you can.
Also, remember that TV channel I though about starting here:
This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that would be shown on it. As this is the kind of thing that, right now, is only found by enthusiasts, and they in turn share it with their friends. But this SHOULD be broadcast to a wider audience, so that everyone can be aware of it, not just a comparative few.
I think I might actually try to pursue this TV channel idea, no idea how I'd start though. Any thoughts?
