know of them, never heard a track. Where to start?
as for tracks I think these are some of their best
Can't Hardly Wait - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ES43eXietFE
Bastards Of Young - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jA-W1p3Pp4
Here Comes a Regular - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKWjFa_36L8
it is the best song ever written, after all
Probably best starting point is 'Tim'
with the frantic punk stuff, through the bar band years and into the almost-solo-westerberg era at the end. they don't have any 'bad' albums - but as stated above 'let it be' is their best and the 'don't you know who i think i was?' compilation is fairly great. they are one of the truly great rock n roll bands of all time - i think you'll enjoy getting involved with them.
I really like 'Don't tell a soul' too.
but I have found it impossible to get into anything from Pleased To Meet Me onwards. Maybe this is because about four or five very good songs aside I thought Pleased To Meet Me was pretty underwhelming. Not rubbish, just should have been a whole lot better. Have probably listened to it ten times and been disappointed ten times. So I have never given the two after it a proper chance, probably got halfway through each once or twice and given up. Are they any good?
Sorry Ma Forgot To Take Out The Trash, Let It Be and Tim are three of my favourite albums though.
There's a great full early show on youtube. Watch this then you should get the whole show eventually on related videos :
are two of the best songs about teenage angst I've ever heard. Let It Be provides the best mix of all the things that made The Replacements so great (Bob Stinson being one of them).
I still don't really get this band
but the 80's drum sound and production on a few of their albums really put's me off.
