It's been out for quite some time but I only came across it a few moths ago. It still gives me the same reaction.
:)
one of the best songs of the last ten years. i used to plug it endlessly on here
indeed
Even though I like listening to music and working, when I listen to this song I just need to stop everything else. It's so powerful and beautiful. The live performances of it look fantastic as well..even in badly shot youtube videos. http://youtu.be/50LV8CV8d78

i went to paris to see them and it was stunning

A Drifting Up
Perfume Genius - Mr Peterson
Listened to it a lot over Christmas, on my own in the office taking lots of codeine. Very heavy album but that song is a painfully wrenching killer.
didn't mean Mr Petersen did I
One night I got up and told my father there were witches in my room. He gave me a baseball bat and said, "Here's what you do"
oh what the inverted comma crap?!
I meant to say that Low - Witches is the last song that really choked the air out of me:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grrsh7rGzv4
That song was amazing live
sparhawk pulled out all the stops.
that's what I would hope
really want to see Low.

Casimir Pulaski Day was the one that got me.
Still does in fact.

Literally this week n am just done in by it.
I never really used to get the appeal of Fleet Foxes beyond a couple of tracks
but I saw them recently and they were really incredible live - they opened with the short instrumental The Cascades and then launched into this which left me pretty speechless at the time:

Agalloch - The Watcher's Monolith
Pretty much all of Marrow of the Spirit does it for me, take your pick really.

The Antlers last album near the end is crushingly beautiful.
Near the start too
and in the middle
*gulp*
Prove to me
I'm not gonna die alone
Put your arm around my collarbone
Open the door
And it doesn't stop doing it
no matter how many times I play it. See also:
One bad night two dumb decisions don't divide to cancel out
If we're talking Antlers...
the bit in Thirteen (off Hospice) where the woman sings "Pull me out, can't you stop this all from happening" is a complete knockout.
dont be scared to speak, don't speak with someones TOOTH
*GONG*
that second....wow. they always try and make it quicker live, and it doesnt work.
Don't ever let anyone tell you you deserve that
This is about as close as DiS comes to a tear stained hug.
weird

has punched me in the gut about 25 times since discovering it last week http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yW6hcSvf_A and then i saw her at Truck and she double punched me.
The other week i fell asleep at my mate's house after a party
and someone put Jeff Buckley's "so real" on, and in my semi-conscious state it still blew me away. Only just tracked down what it was that was playing, and it's beautiful. Sounds similar to Slint, with those amazing vocals.
