Unbelievably excited
Really hope we get Bay of Pigs!
Very very excited!
Does anyone know much/recommend about the support band (Amor de Días).
Looks like we will get Bay of Pigs if his setlists (http://www.setlist.fm/setlists/destroyer-6bd6a696.html) are anything to go by, whoop!
Destroyer for a fiver
Way too knackered from Glastonbury to contemplate attending. If anyone wants my ticket let me know and it's yours for a fiver. I can email it over if you paypal me.
Amor de Dias
Amor de Días (Spanish for “love of days”) is the name of the until-now secret supergroup formed by Alasdair MacLean of the Clientele and Lupe Núñez-Fernández of Pipas.
Over the course of three years, they quietly put together their debut record during evenings and weekends as they called in local friends (Louis Philippe) and visiting musicians (Damon and Naomi, Gary Olson) for sessions, building up the songs’ multifaceted arrangements and vocal harmonies with harps, bouzoukis, strings, recorders, and brass over the core of dual Spanish guitars and the dream imagery of their bilingual lyrics.
The result is a focused, cohesive jewel of chamber pop that reflects a little of Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso’s elegant brand of bossa nova, a bit of Erik Satie’s haunting night music, and a large dose of spooky psychedelic folk. But the beautiful harmony that sings throughout the record makes it all their own.
At times spare and empty, at times rich with instrumental texture, and at times jazz-tinged and hypnotic, Street of the Love of Days rivals anything either Alasdair or Lupe has recorded before.
Ah sounds interesting
I do love The Clientele.
Anybody know what time these bands are playing tonight? Big Boi last week was on nice and early but I'm guessing that (sadly) that isn't the norm?
stage times for tonight
9.30pm Destroyer
8.15pm Amor de Dias

Thank you Mr Manish
much obliged
Fine, fine show
Didn't think Amor de Dias were all that great, but maybe they need to be listened to a few times. Album will be worth looking out for.
Destroyer, on the other hand, were tip top. I expected no less, but it was edifying to see them deliver the goods on such a grand scale. Every band could use a horn section like that.
Lovely sound last night
Those melodies! Agree on the horns.
DOWNTOWN
yeah, seven piece band sounded great
the reworked version of It's Gonna Take An Airplane was INCREDIBLE.
How much booze did Bejar knock back? LOTS IS HOW MUCH.

LOVED it
And yes It's Gonna Take an Airplane was really special, as was Bay of Pigs - had a massive grin on my face throughout all of that. My Favorite Year sounds fucking huge live! Bejar can do no wrong.
