I've double booked myself so need to get rid!
that's this thursday?
someone boght me a ticket but just reminded me now but I'm booked somewhere else :(
That'll teach you for buying a Godflesh ticket.
And there was a point in time where Justin's little head wasn't twisted by Shylock Turner/
'Selfless' however...I just do not like. It all sounds EXACTLY the same. EVERYTHING JoKe Broadrick has ever done is all "crunch crunch gnerrr, crunch crunch gnerr".
That being said...i'll give you a fiver for the ticket if I promise to leave before Godflesh and head to The Others.
(in my opinion anyway)
Listen to Godflesh EP; Streetcleaner and Us and Them and say they all sound the same. They don't.
That's even before you get to all his side projects which are all different.
I think I might have had this argument on here before. Possibly with you.
Selfless isn't really a good introduction considering this was hte time when Broaderick was trying to catch up the mid 90s glut of 'industrial rock' bands who played bad thrash to amen breaks.
is an amazing feelgood anthem
Godflesh/Ice/Greymachine/Jesu/Final/Napalm Death/Painkiller all sound exactly the same...I don't know what side projects you've been listening to which sound different.
Final doesn't sound like Curse of the Golden Vampire's second album
Techno Animal doesn't sound like Jesu
I won't go on.
I will happily admit that Jesu sounds the most like itself and the rest of his output and other stuff by other people, of all his stuff.
Anyways I'm expecting great things on Thursday, which no doubt means he'll be plagued by his usual technical issues and it will be a disappointment. But hey I saw them first time round a few times so no great loss. Will be good to hear the old tunes again though.
Shall we leave it at that?
I just made a remark about CZ double booking himself and he had to get all pissy.
Also, with your examples of what doesn't sound similar at no point did you mention two of the seven I just mentioned in the same comparison proving me right. Right?
But it has gone over the top...
it's about you
Ice had its moments but sounds very dated now.
He was only in Napalm Death for about 12 minutes.
Painkiller is more of a Mick Harris thing no?
I guess with those mid nineties side projects Broaderick and Mick and Mitch had a common interest in Dub which gives their projects that sound (Ted Parsons too if you look at stuff like TeleDubGnosis).
Greymachine=ruined by Shylock Turner
I guess his major weakness is insecurity and he latches onto fads at teh insistance of no-nothing shitsheads with money.
ANYWAY I'm trying to sell a ticket here and it's for GODFLESH and GODFLESH RULED
.... In 1989. Job done.
But I am far too broke to even consider it
